This bridge is so cute and my rats use it a lot, I will get more if they chew through this one. It's long enough to go across my cage's depth. It's a little wobbly with only one clasp at each side, so you could add one to each side to make it sturdy, however my rats can get around on it the way it comes. I've seen people using the wooden pieces to hide food and other things when the bridge falls apart. For the money, it's definitely worth it.
Decent rope ladder/bridge

I use it in my rat cage as bridge, but I keep it lower because it easily turns over. Might be more stable with more clips.
Good for small or young rats

I bought this for my rats, 2 2 month olds and their dad who is 6 months. I have it going to their space pod from a corner. The young ones can use it pretty well, I had to secure it with zip ties because it was very unstable with the hooks it came with. Their dad can't really use it because of his size and weight. He's too heavy and it's not wide enough nor stable enough for him to be comfortable using it. I'll probably phase it out of their cage when the young ones get a little bigger.
Bit small - better as a bridge than a ladder
on May 8, 2020
As other reviews have noted, it's not effectively 17" long- I measure 10" from the first rung to the last. In person it seems a lot smaller with the rungs more closely spaced, so it doesn't work very well as a ladder. However, I tried hanging it as a sort of horizontal platform and put a treat on it to get my cockatiel to try walking on it. It's nice and wobbly without being flimsy, so I hope it provides a bit of mental stimulation as she thinks about balancing, and physical exercise for her feet. She seems to like sitting on it. If you see it as more of a climbing structure than a ladder, it's not a bad buy considering the price.

All birds need a wood bridge. Even though, the rope part can get messy to clean; they like the natural rope because they like to peck at the rope material. It will take a long time for them to pull it apart though, with finches being so small. If you keep regular maintenance, this is a must have. They love skipping across the bridge. Well Made.

I wove 2 of these through the rungs of a parrot ladder and made a great accessory for the parakeets in my aviary.
My bird basically ignores it

All my conure does is chews on it however she is only a couple months old so I’m not sure
if that’s apart of it but she basically neglects it.
Good for rats

Doubles as a chew toy, Could be especially nice for older rats as it still allows climbing but is easier than a rope or braid
My bird loves it

My cockatiel uses this to sleep on every night. I think it’s because of the way I hung it, I think it gives her more balance while sleeping. It’s a great size for her although I haven’t actually tested it as a ladder to climb on but it is definitely her favorite sleeping spot.
