Freeze Drying is a delicate process that preserves the structural and nutritional integrity of fresh whole RAW food. Only water is removed, preserving all the characteristics and natural nutrition of fresh real RAW food.

Are PureBites® products cooked?

PureBites® freeze dried products are not cooked. The nutritional value and palatability of raw food is preserved with our unique freeze drying process. The exceptions to this are Cheddar cheese and Shrimp. PureBites® Chicken Jerky is dried in ovens using the latest technology where heat is gently applied. The resulting whole tender jerky provides a taste dogs love. PureBites® Mixers are made using a gentle cooking technique whereby our treats are sterilized in water and our trays are sealed right away locking in the wholesome freshness of pure meat ingredients without adding any preservatives.

PureBites® products are sourced and made in the USA. The exceptions are: PureBites® Lamb is sourced from New Zealand where some of the highest quality lamb is sourced. PureBites® Lamb is then freeze dried in the USA. All PureBites® Fish & Seafood Products are sourced in the wild from the Ocean and then Freeze Dried in the USA. PureBites® shrimp is Freeze Dried in India or the USA. PureBites® Chicken Jerky is sourced in the USA with USDA Inspected Chicken Breast. We gently dry our chicken jerky in Canada. PureBites® Mixers are sourced in the wild from the Ocean and made in Thailand where most high quality human & pet canned seafood comes from.

How many PureBites® treats can I feed per day to my dog or cat?

PureBites® recommends that the treats you feed your dog or cat should make up no more than 10% of their daily diet.

What is the shelf life of PureBites® products?

PureBites® guarantees the freshness of our Freeze Dried treats for between 2 and 3 years from our production date. PureBites® guarantees the freshness of our Chicken Jerky treats for 3 years from our production date. PureBites® guarantees the freshness of our Mixers for 18 months from our production date. An expiration date is stamped on all PureBites® products as an additional quality step. We recommend that PureBites® Freeze Dried & Chicken Jerky treats be stored in a cool / dry place at room temperature and that our re - sealable bags be sealed after each use. Once PureBites® Chicken Jerky & Freeze Dried treats have been exposed to moisture or water, our shelf life has been compromised. Any unused portion of PureBites® Mixers should be refrigerated.

What is the difference between PureBites® dog and cat treats?

All PureBites® Freeze Dried Beef Liver, Duck Liver, Bison Liver, Turkey and Chicken breast products are USDA inspected and approved. This means that PureBites® Freeze Dried products like our beef cattle and chickens are raised in the USA following USDA human grade regulations. These are the same regulations used for meat products you buy at your local grocery store to feed your family. In addition, PureBites® Freeze Dried Ocean Whitefish, Shrimp & Wild Sockeye Salmon comes from the ocean with no added antibiotics or hormones. Finally, PureBites® Freeze Dried Cheddar Cheese is simply pure cheddar cheese made in the USA with no added hormones or antibiotics.

Is there sodium/salt added to PureBites® dog or cat treats?

Dog and Cat parents love PureBites® because all our treats are 100% pure and rich in nutrients for a happy and healthy life. PureBites® are made using a delicate process to ensure the fewest pure whole ingredients are included in all of our treats. We refuse to add any unhealthy preservatives, salt or sodium to any PureBites® products. You can rest assured that the only salt/sodium present in all PureBites® products is the salt/sodium that is naturally present in our natural raw ingredients.

Are PureBites® products peanut free?

Yes. All PureBites® products are peanut free. Our production facilities utilize best in class food quality standards but there is a possibility that tree nuts and peanuts are present in the building during production.

Does PureBites® test their products?

Yes. Our products are lab tested to ensure we only provide the best quality products for pets. We test every lot and have a state of the art quality tracking system to ensure only the highest quality products reach pet stores.
