We recommend that you keep your dog in ideal body condition and not allow your dog to become overweight. The exact amount of food your dog requires will need to be adjusted according to age, activity and environment. But a good place to start is with these guidelines for an average, active, adult dog fed once daily. Provide adequate fresh water in a clean container daily.
Please allow 7-10 days to ease the transition from your dog's current food. Each day, simply feed a little less of the previous food and a little more Pro Plan until you're feeding Pro Plan exclusively. This gradual transition will help avoid dietary upsets.

New formula-BEWARE
By JCgsmd on Jan 19, 2021
I have been feeding pro plan large breed formula for well over a year with no problems. My dogs were happy healthy and in good condition. But, since the formula change a few months ago, My dogs are having problems. They have dry flaky skin and are losing weight, they have no energy and they’ve started eating dirt which could be indicative of a nutritional deficiency. It took me a while to make the connection that the food had changed. I started adding a supplement to their food and they turned the corner almost overnight and stopped eating dirt. So I’m currently working our way through the last bag of this and will not be feeding it anymore. Yummy food
By Biscoito on Jan 29, 2021
We have our forever greyhound friend now since over 1 year. Always struggling with his stool. We tried several dry foods, nothing was really satisfying until we got to chewy and got the Purina ProPlan food. The transformation is great, our Homer really seems to like it, and his stool is basically normal so far (only giving it since about 1 week). A lifesaver- Thanks Chewy.

Step up for my pup
By Abbie on Jan 27, 2021
We are just moving up to the adult food for my Saint Bernard. She is only 95 lbs at 20 months, so no more puppy food for her, she might get chubby and that is BAD for almost-giant breeds. She was on Pro Plan Focus for Large breed puppies and then we moved up to this. She is currently getting 50% adult, 50% puppy Pro Plan Plus Puppy large breed. Going well, she loves the bigger kibble.

great food
By Julia on Feb 22, 2021
Transitioned my two year old golden to this formula and she absolutely loves it! She was previously on pro plan sport but found she was getting a little heavy on it. Also she really likes the larger nuggets. Definitely recommend this formula.

Recipe change ?
By Dave on Jan 20, 2021
On my previous order, my dog was not happy with Purina Pro Plan. I noticed a difference of the food size and color on this order. I also noticed a different smell. My dog is delighted with the new Pro Plan. She empties her bowel and wants more. Before her bowl sat for half a day, with out her touching it.

So far so good
By Cappythelab on Jan 25, 2021
My lab just changed from puppy food to adult food. So far he loves it. I really like that the pieces are bigger he seems to have to actually chew it. Haven’t had any issues converting from puppy to adult food so far.

Quality food
By MaryAnne on Jan 4, 2021
The staff at my vet's office recommended this food for my rescue pit/lab mix. When I first got him it was like cleaning up after an elephant! He loves this food and it has made a difference in the cleanup. The only downside is that I have to order a huge bag to qualify for free delivery but autoship delivers it to my door.

From puppy to adult
By Ricky on Jan 1, 2021
Our puppy will be two years old on Feb. 1st. We have feed him the Purina Pro Plan Large Breed Chicken & Rice Dry Dog Food since he joined our family at eight weeks old. The adult version of the same food seemed the most logical next step. He is making the transition well.

My lab loves it!! He’s picky normally but he ate this right up. Saves me money and seems to have good ingredients. Will definitely try it again.

Better choice
By Butterflyer on Dec 4, 2020
Best friend since jr high who now is a Veterinarian ( dogs cats) with 3 dogs at his home recommended Purina Pro. Because of healthier ingredients, way less food coloring, the 2 yr old lab chows down on the food/licks the bowl clean and wants more-not going to happen buddy.Plus I worked for Purina back in the post college days.
