The vast majority of ingredients used in Purina products are sourced here in the U.S. Like other food companies, they do source a limited amount of ingredients from other countries. These ingredients are primarily essential nutrients, such as taurine and B vitamins that are not commonly available in the U.S. in the quantities needed and are sourced in China.

I purchased this and my cats seemed to like it initially. So I went ahead and ordered a 2nd bag. Unfortunately they just stopped eating it when I was about 1/3 of the way through the first bag. So now I have a full unopened bag that will probably be donated or fed to stray cats. Pretty expensive food to feed to stray cats, but oh well. My cats love the lamb and rice though, so in the future I will just stick to that flavor.

I received the usual message that an upcoming catfood order was about to ship and moved to change the date as we still had a plentiful supply. Next, I received a notice that the food had already shipped, despite my having changed the delivery date the day before. Apparently there is no communication between customer and company at Chewy. I will be cancelling all future orders as you don't pay attention to your cusstomers' wishes.

Doh! I finally thought to ask my veterinarian for a recommendation and this was her choice. My cats all seem to prefer the salmon & rice over other choices. they all have liked this. Surprisingly, none of them like dry Fancy Feast. They all started as barn cats, strays, or from dumped pregnant mothers. Some clearly didn't get the nutrition they needed in the first year. Other than deal breakers like congenital CHF, and cancer, they all lived 18~20 year healthy lives. I'm down to one and he just survived a harrowing encounter with bobcat fever. (Yes, he's an indoor cat now.) His good health was likely a factor?

Sunny has to have food without the main product being chicken so when I finally found this food I was really relieved. He was a bit worried about eating it at first but that's normal when cats change food to something new. His brother Basmati was really happy to try some but he has to have sensitive stomach food so he couldn't have too much. Sunny has come around to the food and he eats it the same way he ate his old food. This is a good choice if your cat can still have poultry by-products in their food as long as it isn't the main ingredient.

My cat loves this, but BEWARE it's WAY too high in calories

If you look at feeding instructions and actually abide by them? Your cat will be obese very quickly. 1 cup, 8 fl. oz. is over 550 calories. The average house cat

If you look at feeding instructions and actually abide by them? Your cat will be obese very quickly. 1 cup, 8 fl. oz. is over 550 calories. The average house cat is not active enough to eat that much. Take it from me. I have a small female grey tabby very similar to the picture on the bag of food. She weighed 9 pounds and was healthy at that weight. My vet said over 10 would be too much. Within a year she was 12.5 pounds and it's really hard to take the weight off. I saw her at a pet store as a kitten in a cage, and she had been there for 4 months, with a bowl of dry food bigger than she was. So she was used to having food available all the time. I can't seem to get her to eat wet food, so I have to ration how much I give her. The vet wants her on 250 calories a day to take off the weight she gained. She's only 2 years old and I don't want her to be obese. Realize 250 calories a day is a very small amount of dry food (not even 1/2 cup!!)- beware. Dry food is a cat's enemy. Look at the serving sizes recommended in the description and DO NOT follow them. You'll be sentencing your cat to obesity and later diabetes.

No need to buy any other kind of food now

I've always spoiled my cat(s) from day 1, and this current one being very picky, wastes a lot of my money with me doing that, yet I still let him get away with it

I've always spoiled my cat(s) from day 1, and this current one being very picky, wastes a lot of my money with me doing that, yet I still let him get away with it. They've always had the option at the same time out of both wet & and dry food, now I decided to switch the dry food to this brand here, and he refuses to eat anything else. So I've got tons of money 'wasted' on canned food, and treats that he's acting the same way on, in which he's just wanting this brand of dry food. In the end, it will save me a ton of money, but I have fun spoiling my cat (kid) too, and this one is my last pet without a doubt.
