I’ve been using the Purina Pro Plan Puppy Mousse Starter Chicken Entrée for a little while now and it’s been going well. My pup cleans her bowl every time, and I like that it’s not too heavy but still filling. I usually mix it in with her dry food and it blends nicely. The feeding guide on the can has actually been really helpful because it breaks down how much she should get each month as she grows, so I don’t feel like I’m guessing. It’s given me peace of mind knowing she’s getting something balanced and appropriate for her stage.

I have a litter of pups that are 9 weeks old. At 3 1/2 weeks I start weaning them. The puppy starter by Purina is amazing! It only takes one small taste from each pup and they are diving in for more! I mix it with a little goats milk. It’s an ultra soft mousse, so it’s very easy for the little ones to eat. This is also an awesome food for the nursing mother. She needs more calories and nutrients while she’s caring for her hungry babies. I would never be without this product. It’s been a staple in my breeding program! I would highly recommend it.

I chose this because of two senior pups with health issues who had trouble eating kibble and both are rather picky eaters. I am giving five stars because both ate the Chicken Entree with little encouragement needed. I didn't mind the smell (some are smell rather bad) and although I did not like the look of it (not uniform between the cans of food), Abigayle (11 with brain tumor) and Anabelle (14 with heart issues) both loved it. I would recommend this to friends who either have pups or seniors who need the extra.

I discovered the hard way my chi puppy is extremely picky about her food. I have been through at least 5 different foods for her. I finally found a dry food she liked for about a week. Then i had to add a wet food. The purina pro plan puppy mousse was the only food I found she actually licked the bowl clean. Well packaged with easy open top. The food has a light whipped texture with enough gravy.
