It can be opened with one hand, however, it would not be the easiest to open that way as you need to pull back the grey piece while lifting the lever.

Terrible Latch Design

The latch only closes one direction securely? I don’t understand why they made it a “J” shape and not a full “C” shape? Tension is supposed to keep the gate shut,

The latch only closes one direction securely? I don’t understand why they made it a “J” shape and not a full “C” shape? Tension is supposed to keep the gate shut, but it barely reaches on the short side of the “J” so a firm push and it can be opened from one side while latched. The adjuster feet for the sides aren’t screwed in either, also held in by tension, so if it’s not staying in one place forever or you travel with it, prepare to lose the feet. Pretty disappointing with how expensive it is.

Not for toy breeds

My pets love it because they can slip right through the side of it. If you have any toy breed the extension is enough for them to slip right through.

Mostly a decent gate

I feel the walk-through is a little narrow (and I'm not a particularly wide person), so that's something to consider if you are larger or will be carrying larger

I feel the walk-through is a little narrow (and I'm not a particularly wide person), so that's something to consider if you are larger or will be carrying larger things through the gate and can't hoist them over. Assembly was relatively easy and quick. It is quite easy for most cats to jump over, but we're using this in conjunction with a temporary screen door and cardboard to block visual and physical access between our foster and resident cats while she gets acclimated. This was a lot cheaper of an option than a full metal gate (why are those 4-6x as expensive as this?).

Attractive Pet Gate with Great Functionality

We needed a gate to keep our pups in one room, but they like to see through and know what is going on. The door does not have a spring on it that naturally closes

We needed a gate to keep our pups in one room, but they like to see through and know what is going on. The door does not have a spring on it that naturally closes each time like we thought. But as it turns out, this feature is helpful as you can go in and out and not have to keep opening up the door. It can just remain open as needed and only closed when you want. It also fits in the doorway snuggly so that none of our pups can get out and we have two chihuahuas and one beagle mix. It was easy to install and my husband had it up in less than 20 minutes. Great price too. Would recommend.

Easy Step
