Do the Hinges swivel to accommodate any angle on the walls?

The hinges don't swivel.
We have small Chihuahua about 8 to 10 lbs. is slats close enough for them

The space between the bars is approximately 2-2 3/4 inches.
Once the wall mounts are in the wall, is it possible to snap off the gate panels, but not remove the wall mounts, when the gate is not needed?

Per the instructions manual, it is not possible to snap off the gate panels from the wall mount.
Does the gate have a self-closing feature? We have forgetful humans that forget to close our current gate behind them.
