Richell Premium Plus Freestanding Dog Gate, Brown

I had major high hopes for this gate. I have a 47" wide doorway from living room to the rest of the first floor. The house is 100 years old and I did not want to put permanent holes into the woodwork. My prior experience with pressure tension gates has not been a happy one, so this seemed ideal. Where do I start? 1) the gate is hinged on only one side and cannot be changed. for my house it is hinged awkwardly on the wrong side. 2) the feet that hold the gate up are at a 90 degree angle to the gate and multiple times I have tripped and stepped on the feet. The feet are on both sides of the gate so it just isn't easy to walk through. Especially if you have an escape artist waiting to bolt through as soon as you open the gate. 3) My puppy learned to push and/or pull the side gates so he could slip around the end. The gate slides easily (the entire unit) on a polished wood floor. My ten pound puppy only 10 weeks old outsmarted this gate in one night. Bracing it with chairs and cases of soda barely slowed him down. 4) Very tasty feet. Puppy bites the offending feet. In conclusion, keep looking. I moved this gate to protect the air conditioner and its cord in the opposite corner and am now looking for a decent gate.
