This is the best food I gave my frenchie. When I first got him I had no idea what to get him for food, but i knew that frenchies needed to have a certain type of food. It took me about 5 months to find out that this is the best food for him. I tried everything from various dry dog foods and even cooking him food, but found that he was allergic as most frenchies are. After I gave him this food the itchiness has gone down and he hasnt been coughing it up like he did with other food and his stomach isnt upset anymore which is awesome to see. I recommend this food for anyone that owns a frenchie and has allergies to certain foods. It definitely helped mine.
I was weaning my Frenchie off of his old food onto this but every time after eating he would huff until he seemed to cough something up. It was this food. I did not get him complete moved over to this food because I cannot trust that one day he won't be able to self clear his esophagus.
Since getting my frenchie, I have tried different types of food in hopes to find something he will love. Up until about a month ago, he was having some sensitive skin and allergies and his gas was just eye watering. I was recommended this brand by a family member and figured I would do the switch. I was very skeptical on what the brand promised for the frenchie breed (less smell, less gas, etc) but after a couple days I noticed a huge difference. I truly believe they had the right idea to make the kibble a tad bit bigger since frenchies like to INHALE their food which obviously leads to a lot of gas. Not only does he like the food, but I have noticed he slows down while feeding and actually chews his food. This is a 10/10 and worth every penny.
Since I started my frenchie on this food all her stomach issues got better within a week.No more diarrea and she loves it ! I highly recommend :)
I switched my Frenchie back to RC and its the best i’ve done for him. His coat is shiny, no allergies and best of all, he does not smell! He was so gassy, but once on this food he smells good and his poopies are less stinky! I’m sold, and he’s happy! I’m happy. We all are happy! Thanks RC, well worth the extra $$$.
It really does make a difference in the shape of the food after watching him try regular round pieces.
Royal Canin French Bulldog is an amazing product. This kibble is so perfect, I feel like it was custom made just for my boy! First off, the shape. It looks exactly like a cashew, but it's made that way for the frenchie to be able to pick up easily and chew. Also they explain how everything is tailor made for this specific breed. Protein content, the proper nutrition mix for their skin and digestive health. And on top of all that it must taste really good because my boy couldn't wait to get to it and gobbled it right up. I definitely recommend this food if you are a French Bulldog owner as it can definitely be difficult to get the right fit with this breed. Royal Canin does their breed research and puts out a premium product, apparently one we'll be sticking with.
I received Royal Canin French Bulldog Adult Dry Dog Food for free in exchange for my honest opinion. I was excited for my French Bulldog to be able to try this product, but unfortunately the results didn’t fair well. Royal Canin is known for their bite sizes made specific to breeds, the French Bulldog Adult is curved and huge! It reminds me of Science Diet’s Oral Care kibble or a large breed kibble. I still presented it to my Frenchie and he showed interest in it but it took him time to eat it, one big piece at a time, making a crumbly mess. He ate it the first 2 days, which took him quite awhile to eat because of the size, but, after the second day he refused to eat anymore of it. I feel it was too much of a struggle for him to eat the food so he gave up, not that he didn’t like it. Would you want to have to work so hard to eat? I thought Royal Canin knew what they were doing with breeds, if so maybe they should make a smaller version for the Frenchies?
I spoke to random French bulldog owners and they all agreed the only food to put them on is Royal Canin. Especially with their digestive issues. What a difference!!
I received this for free in exchange for my honest opinion. After getting this and comparing it to my dog regular dog food by orijen & doing some research online. I noticed that Royal canin French bull dog ingredients are not good. They have a bunch of filler& not a lot of protein. The ingredients have a lot byproduct which is not good at all. by-product list may include questionable parts of an animal, like gizzards or feathers. I slow tried to tried to transition the Royal canin to his regular dog food & he didn’t want to eat his food any more. if he did his poop where very runny. I didn’t want to put my Frenchie through that so I stop. After read bunch stuff online about Royal canin looks like cash grab for Frenchie owner. They see it catered to French bull and think that it will be good for them, when it’s not. Do your research and look up the ingredients please! You get high quality dog food like orjien, Acana for same price.
