What’s the best Royal Canine for border collie puppies.

Hello I have a pure breed Lab male puppy 3 months old but im so confused on how much i should feed him. On your label, you have 3 Target weights, how do i know which one to choose?
Answer by ChewyDec 04, 2017
We encourage pet parents to speak to their veterinarian when serving this recipe. The vet can easily determine your pup's adult target weight, according to their temperament, activity level and environment.

How big are these pieces of kibble? I want to be able to deduct a portion from daily allowance to use as training treats, but I’m not sure if the size will work for that.
Answer by ChewyJun 14, 2021
I have included a picture of the kibble size below for your reference.

My 15 week lab is having diarrhea. Our vet recommended this food, is it known to help with this?
Answer by ChewyJan 17, 2018
This food helps support digestive health and helps to maintain a balanced intestinal flora.

Avoid - Made puppy sick

Wow! - my 4 month old puppy was doing perfectly fine until I tried this dog food (2x the cost of his original food), and now have been to the vet twice in the past week because he has been terribly sick (diarrhea, daily). And yes, I transitioned him to the new food slowly. Switched him back to his old food recently and seems to be doing completely fine again. For this price dogs should be IN LOVE with this food, but the quality is not there. Avoid.

Only time I have seen a lab refuse food

I got this food for my fast-growing 8.5 month old yellow lab puppy I wanted to mix it with the RC puppy kibble because, frankly, the puppy kibble is just too small for him to crunch. I have never see him physically recoil from any food, but he will not touch this. Took a sniff or two, tried two kibbles I fed him by hand, and backed away. Head-turning, tail down, not going to eat this face. I tried it again the next day. Same reaction. So I tried it on my AmStaff/Schnauzer mix. Same rejection. She tried it, immediately spit it out, and would not touch the bowl of food I had mixed it with. Zero for two with my dogs. I will be reaching out to Chewy about this food, because if a lab thinks food is bad, it must taste terrible. Very bizarre.

lab won’t eat it

I bought this food for my lab puppy. She won’t eat it. After buying it, I noticed the ingredients list contained many items, including multiple grains. I decided to try a grain free diet instead.

Downsizing

Love chewy for always shipping on time everytime, but royal canine is starting to skimp on the amount of food in the bags.. 30lb bag is no longer weighing 30 pounds and does not last nearly as long as it used to. Rise in price and less food in the bag is pretty crappy on their part.

Out of stock when breeder started feeding my puppy

The breeder very highly recommended that we get Royal Canin puppy food, but then she was unable to get it to start the puppies on it before we picked them up. My puppy is trying to transition from another brand to the Royal Canin that I purchased and is not doing well. I may have to switch to the other brand, but will have nearly a $100 worth of food I can’t use. Bummer.

Great for our lab/border collie mix

We have fed this exclusively to our year old female Labrador Retriever/ Border Collie mix or whats known as a Borador. She is smart, has a great almost non shedding coat that is thick and shiny black. Her teeth are healthy, white, and strong. She’s right about 50# ,and is an extremely active, loving dog who is living her best life because of the high quality dog food we have always fed her. This kibble is nice small round pieces(think mini donuts) this kibble is so good that if our dog leaves any or drops any my kitties will seize upon that opportunity and eat the dog food. You get what you put into your dog, with this food you always get quality.

royal canin lab puppy food

I can’t say enough how much my dog loves this food. When I learned how many calories the previous brand had per cup, by advise of my vet, I needed to find a lower calorie alternative to my growing (a bit to much) pup. I researched and found this product. She loves it and it has helped bring her weight down to a health level! Will move to the adult version next!

Puppy food for the win!

My rescue puppy, Callie, has a very sensitive tummy. She was underweight and malnourished when we adopted her. For about 6-months we tried 4 or 5 different foods that all ended up giving her bad diarrhea. When our vet recommended the Royal Canin Lab Puppy food I was skeptical to again try and fail... but this time we had a winner! Callie loves the food as does her tummy. We are now on our 3rd big bag with no tummy issues. She's even gained some extra weight (which we very much needed)!
