My dog is a Scottie like on the bag, but he’s solidly built at 25 pounds. Would it be best then to feed the medium version of this food?

We recommend the Royal Canin Medium Sensitive Skin Care Adult Medium Breed Dry Dog Food medium breed dogs weighing between 21 and 55 pounds, who are 12 months of age or older and have sensitive skin issues.

Works well

I have the unfortunate experience of owning 2 allergy dogs. A shih tzu that has been allergic so bad he has chewed his coat and skin something terrible. He had such a bad body odor and he couldn't stop chewing on himself. Entirely irritated constantly. The other is a bichon chi mix that constantly chewed his feet and nails. I have tried so many foods supposed to be good for allergy dogs, grain free, fish or other alternative meat protein. Spent a ton of money. Ordered this and after just a few days of eating this, all the excess iching and chewing on both dogs has stopped. They both like the flavor and eat it readily. I will be switching up to medium size since my dogs are right on the border of weight between small and medium. This 3 pound bag lasted 6 days for them. My recommendation is if your on the fence about this food for a severe allergy dog, get off the fence and try it. You've got nothing to lose but everything to gain.

Great quality

My dog loves this food but $20.00 for a 3lb bag is just to expensive for my budget. It did make a difference in his scratching but I didn't realize it was such a small bag.

Great product

My Chorkie suffers with food and environmental allergies. I have tried her on so many foods over the last year. Even though we’ve only been using the food for 5 days, I see a huge difference. She would lick and bite her paws constantly. She would shake her head and scratch her ears non-stop. For a second, I thought she may have had fleas from going outside, but it was the ingredients in the food. She also flaked up really bad to the point where it looked like snow falling off of her coat. In that little time, her coat is more oily and there are no more flakes. She’s also a picky eater and doesn’t eat much but when I introduced her to this, she started eating it immediately and has ever since. I will continue to try this product and will do a 1 month review if there are any changes. So far so good!

My pups run to their food bowl and you can see the sheen on the dry food and you know it is full of oils for their coat.

My dog doesn’t like it and caused a reaction

I ordered this food after reading the reviews. Well my allergy girl wouldn’t eat it unless I put something as a topper , then she only ate at the food. After two days she broke out in a rash and her ears became inflamed. Vet said she had a reaction to the food. She is back on RX food from the vet .

No more scratching

Thanks to the fast customer service through Chewy.com, I was able to find the Vet recommended dog food for skin sensitivity on short notice. My Terrier pup loves this food and the incessant scratching has calmed to near gone...WooHoo! Royal Canin for Sensitive Skin Small Dog is a real winner in our eyes. Thank you Chewy.
