Questions & Answers

I have a 4 month old puppy that’s almost 50lbs. The suggested feeding chart is alittle confusing, could you explain or clarify how to read the feeding chart. Thanks!
Answer by ChewyMay 09, 2019
it's recommended to pick your dog's adult target weight found in the first column. Then increase the feeding amount each month based on your dog's age.

My Dane is 10 mos 86# & still eating 6-7 Cups of Royal Canin Giant puppy food a day should I change her to junior yet?
Answer by ChewyFeb 28, 2021
This recipe is formulated for puppies up to 8 months over 100 pounds. After this they should be transitioned to Royal Canin Giant Junior Dry Dog Food which is for puppies from 8 to 18/24 months old and over 100 pounds. We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively.

I read a review stating BHA is added to this food. BHA is found reported to be carcinogenic??? Does it have BHA or not??
Answer by ChewyAug 28, 2020
Royal Canin Giant Puppy Dry Dog Food does not contain BHA. Royal Canin use natural preservatives.

When do I start with royal canin junior for my giant breed puppy. I feed her three times a day with giant breed puppy. She is six months old but almost seven months. Do I continue three times a day with the junior feed.
Answer by ChewyNov 16, 2020
Royal Canin Giant Junior Dry Dog Food is suitable for puppies from 8 to 18/24 months old and over 100 pounds. The attached feeding guide is a general recommendation for daily feeding amounts for a pets optimal weight. This may be adjusted for each individual pets nutritional needs. Fresh Product?

This recent delivery is definitely not as fresh as the last two shipments. New to Royal Canin as suggested by the breeder of our (November) Great Pyrenees puppy. The first two shipments looked, felt, and smelled of fresh product. I was impressed with the look and feel of the product at first. This one is dry and lifeless as were other dog food kibble brands.

Using the correct food mattered

Previously we used large dog food, then recently switched to giant breed of which we have one. Our pup has noticeably filled in since the switch.

Puppy loves it

We had two shipments get damaged before we finally got this food. Other than that thumbs up. My humongous 6 month malamute/rottie mix likes this more than other food I’ve tried.

ULA & her squeaky ball

This is second time we bought this ball . The new one is soft easier for them to grab hold of . We still have first one but it no longer squeaks!

1st timer with chewy

First time trying chewy and they already have a strike 1. Got my bag of food and there's a whole in the bag.

Great Newf puppy food!!

We have our second Newf. She is 6 months old. We love Royal Canin products and are happy they have a Giant breed puppy food. Most people think 100 lb dogs are big but Newfs can get to 140-150. Thanks for autoship!!!

I don't think it tastes great but my dog does

This food was very dry and even after I added milk to it, I still really had a hard time eating it. I then tried it with a little holendaise sauce, which tasted better, but I really think it was just the sauce. My dog however loves it! He doesn't seem to mind the taste at all, in fact it appears as if he quite enjoys it.

Best puppy food

I have been feeding this food to my now7 month old mastiff and she has grown beautifully and her coat just shines. No stomach issues either.

Puppy approved!

I have now a 10 week old Great Dane. Started him on this food 2 weeks ago after he was on Nulo puppy formula. He was literally having diarrhea every hour and a half 24/7. After switching him to this formula, his poop is normal! And he’s growing like a weed like a Dane should. I really like the feeding schedule for anticipated weight as an adult indicated on the bag as well. When I told my vet he was on this, her reply was “oh good!”

Take it or leave it

Purchased the largest bag because our oldest newfoundland loves her royal canine satiety. Honestly when you open that bag it smells much better than ordinary dog food. Hoping the same for this puppy food. No such luck. It smells just like the rest, blah. Not inviting. Puppy is not interested.
