This is only a guide. Optimal feeding amounts may vary according to your pet's temperament, activity level and environment. If you have any questions regarding your pet's health, please contact your veterinarian.
We recommend at least a 7 day transition before you begin feeding the new food exclusively. Start by mixing 75% of the old diet with 25% of the new diet on Day 1 and Day 2. On Day 3 and Day 4, mix 50% of the old diet with 50% of the new diet. On Day 5 and Day 6, mix 25% of the old diet with 75% of the new diet. On the 7th day, you can feed the new food exclusively. This allows your pet’s digestive system to smoothly adapt to the new food.
All of our dry diets are preserved naturally with mixed tocopherols, citric acid, and rosemary extract. Our canned diets are naturally preserved and sterilized during the cooking and canning process.
We select our ingredients based on multiple factors, including the supplier’s compliance with our quality and food safety requirements, consistent availability, and on the nutrients required to meet the dietary needs of the pet.Royal Canin is making strides towards sustainability by attempting to obtain sources of raw materials as close to each manufacturing facility as possible. In some cases, we use international suppliers, because only those suppliers can offer raw materials that comply with our quality and food safety standards.
Royal Canin chooses ingredients because they deliver high-quality nutrients that support our customized pet food formulas. Using chicken by-product meal instead of chicken meal for example will allow Royal Canin to maintain its highly customized nutrient standards while achieving a more secure and sustainable supply.
Grains can be a healthy part of any cat or dog’s diet. As always, we focus on the nutrients each ingredient provides and grains can provide many important nutrients.
Our Quality and Food Safety systems are state-of-the-art and we continue to invest heavily in new technology to make sure they remain that way. We put our suppliers through a rigorous selection process that doesn’t end with our first purchase. We monitor every load delivered to our plants to verify the safety and quality of the ingredients we use to make pet food. We perform tests on finished pet foods before they are shipped to our customers. We manufacture every pet food we sell, in plants that we own; our plants are ISO 9001:2008 certified for Quality Management and ISO 22000 certified for Food Safety.
Based on size, age, lifestyle, and breed, each cat or dog has unique nutritional needs. For healthy pets, use our Product Selector to find the right diet for your cat or dog.If your pet is experiencing health issues, please refer to your veterinarian for more information. Your veterinarian will consider multiple factors when recommending an appropriate diet.

Our little 16 yr old Chihuahua doesn’t have many teeth left & I needed a really small kibble that she could almost swallow hole. She absolutely loves it & the kibble is super small.
This food was good til it wasn't .... available any longer! My two 16-1/2 year old Yorkies at 3-1/2 pounds each, did great on this food, and loved it forever, until it hasn't been available forever. What a shame such a wonderful company like Royal Canin can't keep up with the high demand their clients are asking for. We're forced to search elsewhere, and when we find something equal in quality that our pets like as well, if not better, and is readily available, guess what, we won't return. I'm sure you know how detrimental this is to your business, your stocks, and your bottom line. Yes, you are losing money and getting grief, I am being inconvenienced, but the real victims here, are the tiny, elderly fur babies not getting the food they need and deserve. Please, please, please get this food back in stock! Can you at least give us an approximate date we may see it back on the market, or a place we can preorder it before it comes and goes, before we can get our hands on even one bag? It's not fun to be teased! A very concerned senior pet Mom.
My Morky is almost 13 years old. She has only eaten Royal Canin all of her life. In fact, when I have tried to change her dog food she just refuses to eat. I have always been able to get Royal Canin in her preferred choice any place. But, since the pandemic it has been harder to find especially in the 12+ category. Chewy is the only place that carried it. Thanks!!!!
My chihuahua loves the taste. She is happy when eating this. Likes it more than most
I have a senior Pom with health problems so she doesn't like alot of dry foods, but she loves this and eats it all!
Dog would not eat it. Had to donate it. Dog would not eat it. Had to donate it. Dog would not eat it. Had to donate it.
Been using this brand since Missysue was a baby. Well worth the price
Well I tried to switch my 2 little senior divas off of this food due to poor quality ingredients after I read the reviews prior to my last order. I ordered another small bag of this and a much better quality ingredient (more expensive brand) food. And the 2 little Chi's won't budge & eat the new food. I guess since I got them at an older age from a shelter & rescue I'm going to let them decide which one they like best. I sure wish Royal Canin would do better with the ingredients in this food for the tiny dogs.
My 12-year-old toy poodle has always been a picky eater. She turns her nose up at most things and generally eats only when she wants to show you that she is offended by what you have presented her with. As she ages, this habit is not good for her health. She has lost over 2 pounds, which is terrible on a 7-pound dog. She's also newly blind, and this has left her feeling pretty low in spirits lately. As soon as I received the package, we opened it to give her a taste. The kibble is small and thin, easy for her to manage. The smell is rich, and it kinda smells good even to my human nose. She perked up and ate 4-5 kibbles from my hand ravenously like it was a treat. Normally, we would change her food gradually, but her old kibble is too big for her to really get a good meal from, so we just gave her a small portion of new kibble. Y'all, she CLEARED HER PLATE. Of kibble. This has never happened in 12 years. Expensive brands, grain-free brands, grocery store brands, even others from the Royal Canin line. We've finally found a food she will eat! Hopefully weight gain will come soon. We have paired it with Royal Canin Mature 8+ Canned Dog Food, and I have high hopes!
I almost bought this. I truly understand the importance of vegetables along with some grains in dog food. However, the main ingredient is rice. The 2nd main ingredients are pulverized leftover chicken parts, such as bones, beaks, and feet. My little senior Chihuahua deserves better.
