About Royal Canin Weight Management for Dogs

Concerned about Your Dog’s Weight?

Maintaining a healthy weight can help support your dog’s overall health. When it comes to your dog’s weight, your veterinarian is the expert. You should always consult with your vet to find the best solutions and management options for your pet.

Assessing Your Dog’s Weight

There are 9 body condition scores used to assess a dog’s weight. Talk to your veterinarian about which matches your dog.

  1. LOOK – Check your dog’s body shape to see whether she is very thin, an ideal weight or overweight.
  2. FEEL – Severely defined ribs and waist may mean your dog is very thin. Ribs easily felt but not seen, with an obvious weight, may mean she is an ideal weight. If you cannot her feel ribs and her waist is absent, your dog may be obese.
  3. WEIGH – Work with your veterinarian to identify your dog’s weight and body condition score to help your vet determine your dog’s nutritional needs.

Wendy loves this

Wendy who is over weight loves this dog food. She was on another brand and it was mushy and awful she hated it. My vet wants her to lose two pounds ( she weighs 12 pounds) he recommended this and when I called chewy the representative was wonder. She took care of everything!! She said the company would contact my vet, get the prescription and send it out. I just wish all companies had the great costumer service that chewy has.

Difference in dog food

Is Satiety Support the same as Weight Control. It sure isn't the same when you open the can. One has rice, the other isn't even the same in color.

Stop buying Royal Canin!

Stop buying Royal Canin! There are so many other brands out there that are WAY better for your dog and that are even WAY cheaper. It’s not fair that companies like this are price gouging customers when the main ingredients in their foods are by-products, soy, or gluten meal. You always want the first 2 ingredients in your dogs food to be a protein and it’s either gonna be a protein by-product, or not even a protein at all. And they wanna charge up to over $100 for a bag or 12 cans? Do your research guys.

Great Food

I used to buy this from the vet's office, but when I found it on Chewy I thought I would order it from them. It arrived in a timely manner and updates were perfect.

she loves it and it’s working

10 year old Mia’s weight was up 15% over time and it was impacting her energy and health. We slowly switched to RC and she loves it. Her weight is inching lower and she couldn’t be happier. Mia thanks you RC.
