My vet recommended a specific dosage. How do I measure this?

The dosage may be modified as per your veterinarian. This bottle does not include measuring tools.

does this need refrigeration after opening ?

Answer by ChewyMar 16, 2021
This supplement does not require refrigeration. Store at room temperature, away from sunlight.

what flavor is it and can it be mixed with with water

Answer by ChewyMay 08, 2020
There is no added flavor to the Rx Vitamins Ultra EFA Dog & Cat Supplement. The formula has a natural, mild fish taste and it is not bitter at all. It is well tolerated and accepted by both dogs and cats. It is best to administer the supplement by mixing into the food. Given that it is an oil, it will not mix well with water. You can also mix in with plain yogurt and give just before a meal. The fish oil should be given with meals to ensure proper digestion and assimilation.

Bottle cap prevents spills and wasteful overfills.

The cap is secure and pouring spout is better, with less overfill than the 16 oz glass jar with the screw on cap.

Strong smell of rosemary, my cat will not eat it

My cat will sniff and dramatically back away and not eat this when thoroughly mixed into her favorite canned cat food (her usual way of taking meds & supplements.)

allergic reaction

My sweet dog had an immediate allergic reaction, we had to go directly to the vet. I do not recommend for dogs with sensitive skin issues.

4 dewclaws down

The reviews saying it has an overwhelming rosemary scent are 100% correct. Good for a spa, not so much for a cat.

Our vet recommended we add this supplement to our new rescue dachshund's food. He came to us from a hoarding situation, where he had been repeatedly attacked by other dogs, fighting for limited food. He had multiple wounds and patches of fur missing. The end of his tail looked so bad that out vet thought she would have to amputate it. To make matters worse, his coat/color is known as "dilute", which makes him prone to skin problems. Adding this supplement to his meals twice daily helped heal all his wounds; all his fur has grown back, and his tail looks perfect. Everyone who pets him comments on how soft his coat is.

Smells pretty bad

I think it’s the rosemary as others have commented, it was recommended for my cat but he wouldn’t go near it even mixing with the good stinky food. I give it to

Hopeful but rosemary overwhelming

I was hopeful this veterinarian-recommended supplement would be beneficial to my senior cat, but the rosemary was so overwhelming, she refused it upon smelling it

I was hopeful this veterinarian-recommended supplement would be beneficial to my senior cat, but the rosemary was so overwhelming, she refused it upon smelling it. Treats and pumpkin, her favorites, couldn’t even disguise it enough for her to try it.
