how do you clean the hair off?

Remove excess hair with your hand, rinse with clean water, and then soak. After soaking, your brush will still have some residual dirt or hairs clinging to the bristles or pad. You can remove this remaining buildup by rinsing it in clean water and then lightly shaking it to whisk off any excess moisture.

This comb will work on all dog breeds.

What are the bristles on this brush made from. My constant companion doesn't care for metal wire.

The bristles are metal and has its tips coated to gently and comfortably remove tangles and loose hair.

Was told slicker wud be best

Received this an hour ago and was so excited to try it out on my terrier mix, and 1st "pull" and it basically got caught in her hair..Did try to continue but felt

Received this an hour ago and was so excited to try it out on my terrier mix, and 1st "pull" and it basically got caught in her hair..Did try to continue but felt bad for her, so I guess its back to my human hair brush until further notice. Wish I could have used it, but not if it hurts my baby. Have a great one and God bless ya.

I found you can use it in three different directions with always going the diection of hair grain. You can use the brush backwards, sideways and regular. If you use the brush backwards, again always going with the grain of hair, it combs out the tangles on the surface of the hair. Just stroke lightly on the top of hair. It gets out the tangles on the surface of the coat. If you use brush sideways it the removes tangles a little deeper into the coat. Then use brush the regular direction removing tangles yet deeper in the coat without pulling the hair as much. Chewy should suggest making one of these brushs that fits in the palm of your hand like a horse brush. It should have somekind of hand holding strap on the back of the brush to hold the brush tightly into the palm of the hand. Lastly, either the strap or brush needs to rotate so the brush is held into palm tightly but can rotate all the differ directions easily.

Takes pesky knots out c:

I have a mixed breed .. a doodle. He has long hair and if I don't brush him weekly, he gets these pesky knots on his legs, chest, belly. So far this brush has helped
