Alfalfa is the main ingredient and alfalfa should ONLY be given in tiny amounts as treats. These are pellets you feed your chin all day everyday, terrible for them. There’s a reason why they like them so much. Too much alfalfa will cause issues due to high calcium, leading to kidney problems or bladder stones. Opt for TIMOTHY hay as the main ingredient. And yes, you should always offer fresh timothy hay to your chins as well!

Good for Degus!

It seems that the food I had been feeding my 3 Degu girls is currently not available - the Versele-Laga Chinchilla and Degu Complete. I decided to try this new Science Selective formula. It is labeled for Chinchillas, But the ingredients seem OK for Degus as well. It is difficult to find a food for Degus that DOES NOT contain saccharides (sugars) that are harmful to them. In my opinion, this can be used as your PRIMARY Degu food. You may wish to consult your Vet, however, to be sure. My 3 picky eaters really Love it! As I am transitioning them over to it - they will pick out these nuggets first.

To the girl that said, this is not complete nutrition and you have to feed hay

You should always give your chinchilla pellets and hay, treats are like once a week. People really need to do research on chinchillas! No pellet alone is good enough without hay! Like straw hay!

Stopped wet stool

I've been struggling with getting rid of my chinchillas wet poop for months. Even after an expensive vet visit, the medication did not help with a suspected bacterial gut infection not parasites. I decided to change the food again to strictly pellets. This food changed things around in 2 days. My chinchillas love these pellets, normally pellets is there least favorite food. I've had the same chinchillas 15 years.

My adult chinchilla ABSOLUTELY LOVES THIS FOOD. He refuses to eat any other brand than this one. I have used this food brand for about a year or two now, and so far he has not had any bad reactions to it and is pretty healthy. I would recommend this food, but I must warn any potential buyers of this product that once you feed this to your chinchilla you will probably have to fully commit to it because of how addicting it is.

Chinchillas love it, but not complete nutrition

I bought this when my chinchillas started eating less of their regular food, and they devour this food but the pieces are larger than their previous food, and I read that if you feed this you have to give supplemental hay at all times.

Tongtong loves it!

My chinchilla loves it! The only problem is that he won't eat any other feeds after falling love with this.
