    Great Product

    By on

I started my first time chicks on something from the feed store and all it was ended up being powder. They ate it ok, but it made their poop squirty and stinky. After research and ordering other products on Chewy, I found it could be added to my auto ship. That’s a plus! The girls love this food and I’m satisfied that what they are eating is what I would put in my body as well. The brand headline ‘you are what your animals eat’ is appropriate in my book. Will continue to buy as they get older and only start new chicks on this brand. I plan to ferment for them too.

    Great feed

    By on

I really like seeing the ingredients in a less processed form, and the chickens seem to agree. They were wasting a lot less just feeding dry, but I hated seeing such a good feed scattered across the ground nonetheless. So, I started soaking it overnight so that it sticks together a bit more and helps release the nutrients. They went nuts for it! It was a huge success and almost no waste. Then reading up on fermented feed, I decided to try that, and I love it even more. I think feeding just dampened or even fermented is really the way to go with any feed, though I do keep a dry feed in a rat proof feeder in the coop for emergencies. That said, the chickens love the fermented stuff, or at least I really like seeing the ingredients in a less processed form, and the chickens seem to agree. This is high-quality food but it is absolutley not starter feed for chicks, which is how I read it. Should be re-labeled

    All approve.

I got some new babies and decided to start them off with Scratch and Peck Feeds instead of Purina that I get from the feed store locally. They all love it and I feel like a better pet mom going the all organic route. I will definitely be buying the Scratch and Peck Feeds Grower next!
