Our girl LOVES this stuff! We ferment it and mix it in with her veggies - she will root around to eat all of this first. It's got great ingredients and is very healthy. For those who don't like the chicken feed look/feel, just soak it. This stuff is great!
My poor pug has horrible rust on this feed. I really wanted it to be a good food. Unfortunately I'm stopping it asap
After reading many good reviews on numerous sites about this feed and how it is organic, non gmo, no corn or soy, I had to give it a try. Figured I would just order from Chewy since it is easy and quick. However, when I received the feed, I noticed it was infested with little bugs! Gross. So when I called Chewy’s customer service and told the lady, she had no reaction whatsoever. It was the weirdest thing I have experienced!
I've tried the other organic feeds out there. This seems the healthiest. It's significantly pricier but I will continue using it as I see a difference in the well-being of my pet pigs after only two weeks of switching to this.
My mini pig does fantastic on this feed! It should be soaked before feeding, as should all mini pig food. We soak ours over night for the next day. It swells up, which not only makes it easier to eat, but helps our pig feel fuller. His coat and eyes do great m. Been using this almost 6 months. Others that say it’s got “dust” or has sharp edges aren’t wrong. It is unprocessed grain, but soaking it fixes all that. It really is a superior food!
My mini loves her grain! I soak about a cup and a half in water twice a day and she goes to town. She is also fed mountain mix hay. She is super healthy & happy!!
I live in a somewhat remote area, there isn’t a feed store locally that carries a good quality mini pig feed. I cannot tell you how ecstatic I was to see Chewy was now carrying the brand I’ve always wanted to feed my piggies! Not to mention the auto ship option! I mix this feed along with Modesto Milling and they are happy and healthy. If your piggy isn’t use to feed in this form I suggest adding water (I add water to every bowl fed meal to help prevent choking) It’s not quite meant for a bowl if you do not add water. My pig kids eat twice per day, in the AM their food (Scratch & Peck brand) gets thrown out in their pig pen so they have something to root and forage for. In the evening they get a nice warm bowl of food. This feed is great and high quality if you feed it correctly.
this is our first time trying this and it is different than what we are used to. i'm not sure if the results will be the same. pigs seem to be hungry all the time anyway. would rather write a review in a month or so.
I have always fed my pig pelleted feed after we stopped feeding hay, but when my feed store was out, I had to find something quickly. Chewy is always quick to ship me things and I get everything else from them, so I found this! I actually really like it and so did my pig. The ingredients are great and he enjoyed eating it. The only downside is that it I have to feed him way more of this than the pelleted feed, so cost wise, it isn’t effective as the only feed for him. But I like this feed too. I still had some left by the time I got my pelleted feed, so I mixed them and I think I will mix the two from now on. He seems to enjoy it that way now!
I bought this 2 days ago for my mini pigs. When i opened it i saw what looks like chicken feed. I gave some to one of my pigs and they must of inhaled the powdery texture because he chocked. It absolutely scared me to see my pig chocking. I would advise careful monitoring while eating if ur going to buy it.
