FAQ

How Does Simparica Work?

Simparica is a great tasting chewable tablet given orally once a month. It travels in your dog's blood to safely deliver persistent continuous protection against fleas and ticks from day 1 to day 35.

Why protect against fleas and ticks?

Tick-borne diseases represent a widespread and growing public health hazard to dogs (and their human companions), causing debilitating illness and even death. It only takes one tick to spread disease, so continuous protection is critical to help reduce the risk of infection.

Likewise, it only takes a single "pregnant" flea to start an infestation on a dog or in a home. And although fleas are largely perceived as a mere nuisance, they too, can pose health risks to pets and humans.

    Ticks Yuuuk

By HUCK on Nov 29, 2021

We found 2 engorged ticks in as many days on our dog. We live in the country where fleas and ticks are an inevinability. We have been lucky in the last 30 years and have only 'found' three or four' on our dogs. None on our livestock which doesn't mean they aren't there. Our neighbor has had many on their livestock, I am thinking we have been spared. The large herds of elk in the area may be the culprits, but we love them. Better safe than sorry so we are using the 'new' SIMPARICA and so far , no unwanted bugs. Besides, 'Swede" likes the taste.

    Finally flea free!

By Kelly on Dec 7, 2021

After years of over the counter flea treatments, this past summer was absolutely awful for fleas and ticks in the south, and I finally decided a prescription was in order for my senior beagle. After a week on Simparica, I found no fleas and no evidence of fleas; I checked her frequently. The prescription is pricey, but it beats spending money on treatments that don't work. My beagle is happier and I'm not constantly searching her for fleas.

Works but makes my dog limp

By Jenny on Jan 5, 2022

No more fleas and mites but my dog started sagging in with her hind end. I stopped Simparica immediately and one week later she recovered and is now walking normal. She is a young healthy dog and I’m 100% sure Simparica caused this! It scared me!

    Pretty good, but question

    By Beethoven12 on Sep 19, 2021

We buy this from our local vet and it works good so far, but it's almost like after a while he becomes emune to the medication. Also do they have to go to a vet to buy the prescriptions from chewy?

    Read the fine print

By Simparica on Mar 26, 2021

My vet recommended Bravera, but when I read the fine print on Bravera I discovered it's really only FULLY effective for 8 weeks. But I was paying for 12 weeks' dose which is expensive. Simparica, on the other hand is fully effective against ticks and fleas particularly the lone star tick ... for the amount of time listed on the box. When you comparing the pricing Simparica is competitive and fully effective. I will switch over to the Simparica trio when I use up my heartworm pills

    Dog flea & tick chewable

By Greg on Jun 16, 2021

The product is very easy to administer, just give it as a treat. However, it seems that there should be a cheaper alternative.
