Small Pet Select Paper & Real Natural Lavender Small Pet Bedding, White & Purple, 56-L

This litter under-performs for odor control of guinea pigs. I have 2 females who aren't litter trained but do use their kitchen a lot and this litter will begin to have urine smell after 2 days. I am used to being able to change my kitchen litter on the same schedule I change my fleece, once a week. Instead I have to scoop the corners of this litter every two days, using a lot more product than other brands which also means its not economical. The earning two stars is because: one of my girls is a chronic paper litter eater and I unfortunately have 3 packs of this litter, so after 1.5 bags used (as of writing this review) she has had no blockage issues or any problems from eating this litter. *she will eat any brand of paper litter so it isn't that this brand is luring her to eat it for any reason. And finally, that brings me to the second reason for the two stars I am giving: because it's scent is true to the smell of lavender. (and again this smell is not why my pig eats paper, she does that because she's stubborn and willful LOL). Just took a pic so you can see my kitchen set up where this litter is used and gauge then how much is available to my pigs for the purpose of soaking up smell and wetness. The hay is floofed so it's deceptive but there is the same amount of space on each side of the hay pole and those are the areas that I need to scoop the litter mid-week at least; every 2 days if I want to change it as soon as I start smelling a stronger urine smell (than is typical with having rodents in general), or I can get away with 3 if I basically choose to ignore the urine smell because I am busy that day, but I would say this brand absolutely can't go a forth day with two pigs. And as a funny side note - there's the little paper eater now! And I see in her dish that it looks like there's a piece of litter that probably just fell out of her mouth as I walked in to take this pic! Girl!! Stop it!!! LOL
