Feeding Instructions

Feed your guinea pig ¼ to 1 cup of Sunburst per day depending on the age of your pet. Complement this feeding with unlimited amounts of hay. Always regulate the food portion to maintain your pet’s weight. A pregnant or lactating female will sometimes eat 2 to 3 times as much as a normal adult. Please note, the potency of the Vitamin C in our food will decrease if not stored properly. Remove and discard uneaten food everyday and clean the bowl prior to refilling it. Always maintain fresh drinking water near your pet’s food container.

Transition Instructions

While introducing a new food to your pet friend, gradually mix new food with your pet’s old diet. Increase the amount of food over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet’s digestive system.

Nice Treat for Guinea Pigs, But Not A Complete Diet

By CobyAndOzzy on May 9, 2021

I give about 2 tablespoons of this to my guinea pigs every few days. It's a great treat mix, but definitely not a full time food. It is basically just alfalfa pellets with a ton of added treats... Alfalfa is high in calcium and can cause stones if they fed too often. I'd recommend Versele Laga pellet food, or Oxbow Garden Select for a high fiber, timothy hay, main diet.

    Better than expected

By Dasveski on May 21, 2021

I was in a pinch and needed guinea pig food ASAP. This has practically the same ingredients as my go to, along with whole foods that are dried. My pigs love it.

By Ambre on Apr 23, 2021

We will be switching to this food for our guinea pigs for the foreseeable future! They absolutely love it, much better than their previous brand. They wheek like crazy when they hear us unseal the bag.

    Don’t buy this

By Guineapigmom on Apr 15, 2021

This food does not have the right nutrition your piggies need. Pellets shouldn’t have seed nor dried fruit.
