Feeding Instructions

Feed your guinea pig ¼ to 1 cup of Sunburst per day depending on the age of your pet. Complement this feeding with unlimited amounts of hay. Always regulate the food portion to maintain your pet’s weight. A pregnant or lactating female will sometimes eat 2 to 3 times as much as a normal adult. Please note, the potency of the Vitamin C in our food will decrease if not stored properly. Remove and discard uneaten food everyday and clean the bowl prior to refilling it. Always maintain fresh drinking water near your pet’s food container.

Transition Instructions

While introducing a new food to your pet friend, gradually mix new food with your pet’s old diet. Increase the amount of food over a period of 7 to 10 days. This will allow your pet to adjust to the new food and it will prevent any upset to your pet’s digestive system.

    What A Great Brand!

    By on

My Guinea pigs go to town with this food! They just love it, and I didn't expect them to love it so much! I would recommend this for guinea pig owners. I know it's a little pricey but the quality of the food is worth it!

    Healthy for the stomach

    By on

First off, when I opened the package that contained the sunburst bag, I couldn't believe how huge it was. I've been using to feed my guinea pigs and they aren't even half way done. I love the quantity and quality of it, and so do my pigs!

    All but the pellets

    By on

I have five boars, kept in sets of 3 & 2. They all LOVE this stuff, and even run away from their veggies (which they also look forward to and love) to scarf it up--all but the pellets. We know that guinea pigs beyond a very young age really shouldn't have much alfalfa at all, so if the pellets are alfalfa, it doesn't bother me...we have quality timothy pellets which are consumed well. But essentially, I'm paying for only the eaten part, with a lot thrown away. They get the Sunburst in the morning, and their timothy pellets (and hay & veggies again) in the evening. It is worth it to see them have the variety, as the ingredients in this stuff are really good. We have found this to be true I have five boars, kept in sets of 3 & 2. My Piggies Love it

    By on

My two guinea pigs go crazy over this. They absolutely love it. Once they hear the bag-and yes, they know the difference between other bags and this one-they get very excited. I even use the dried bits as treats when they are out on the floor.
