Perfect as a food topper for picky wet food addict

Both dogs were huge fans of this food! It seemed to be a very high value for them, which I thought would make it a good candidate for training treats but they crumble

Both dogs were huge fans of this food! It seemed to be a very high value for them, which I thought would make it a good candidate for training treats but they crumble when you try to break them apart. However, as marketed, it is perfect as a food topper! Lark - a senior 75 pound boxer hound mix - got accustomed to having wet food mixed in with her dry in the shelter and after five years, I have not been able to change this. I guess she would eat the dried kibble if she got hungry enough, but I typically end up mixing in a little wet food. This is the first dry topper that I have found that she will eat her kibble with! The pieces are pretty large and just three of them crumbled up on top of the food give a good cover. It crumbles easily and leaves no mess on my hands. I also did not detect a smell, although the dogs seem to think it smells good! It is much easier than keeping a can of wet food in the fridge and dealing with splatter! Bongo a 70 pound super mix, also loves this as a topper although I will admit she is less particular. This to me is a food topper winner!

Apparently they are very tasty because the dogs absolutely love them! These are great for training treats. They're very lightweight and they're not greasy in your pocket. I used one to crate train one of my dogs when he comes in from outside, and he will run in the crate now! As you can see in the photo I was trying to take a picture of them in my hand so you could see them and one of my dogs is jumping up trying to steal them!!

My dogs loved these, I did not use them as a topper because they would not eat their regular food when I did that, but I decided to use them as treats and they loved

My dogs loved these, I did not use them as a topper because they would not eat their regular food when I did that, but I decided to use them as treats and they loved them. They are not huge and they are soft for my smaller dog that is older that has a hard time chewing somethings. If I got them as treats I would get them all the time, but they like other treats and I also change their treats around and give them new things every month.

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is due to the price. I appreciate that Small Batch is a fantastic, clean, responsibly sourced food...but it is far too pricey

The only reason this didn't get 5 stars is due to the price. I appreciate that Small Batch is a fantastic, clean, responsibly sourced food...but it is far too pricey for my budget, so I use it sparingly. My dogs absolutely love it though. I use it for high value treats when administering meds and will occasionally break it up over their food as a topper. It really is a great food.

I didn’t like the fact that they kind of turned to mush when you added water, and if you tried to break them( she has a very small mouth) they fell apart. The fact that she ate it at all is a plus for this picky girl.
