This bed is very nice, the cover is very durable and feels really nice. I wasn't very fond of the smell after I opened it but I think that was the plastic it was in. After washing up it smelled fine to me so maybe wash it up as soon as you get it. The cover comes off easily and washes up well without any problems. I could see this being a great bed for medium or small dogs and cats as well. I'm not sure I would use it for very large dogs because this bed isn't supportive but it does open up so you can add more fill if you want to or you could probably add a foam bottom for more support . I'm thinking of trying that myself just to see how it would work out although my chihuahua and Corgi love it as is.
