The internal strap is adjustable and can be adjusted between 4-12 inches. It uses a small clasp that can be attached to a harness.

I purchased this same car seat back in the 90’s for my toy poodle. He passed away in 2005 and the car seat has been passed around to family members since then. We now have it back and use it with our Chihuahua! I bought a new one to put in our other car so we don’t have to keep changing it back and forth. The “old” one still looks as good as the new one!! Great car seats! (The company name has changed but the seat is the same)

My timid, always scared Pomeranian would prefer to ride in my lap in the car but I feel it’s unsafe, especially while driving. I’ve tried two other seats, both of

My timid, always scared Pomeranian would prefer to ride in my lap in the car but I feel it’s unsafe, especially while driving. I’ve tried two other seats, both of which he has shivered and whined in. This seat he seems to like-he doesn’t whine while riding and has been actually eager to jump from my arms into his seat. I drive a 2023 Mercedes GLC SUV and the seat definitely fills up the front passenger seat. It seems stable enough with just the seat belt in the appropriate channel, but I might rig a strap going around the front of the seat and around the actual vehicle seat, just to ensure it’s stable in case of a collision. I also would prefer the safety strap that attaches to the pet harness be factory sewn into the dog booster seat rather than placed on the lap belt, I think it would be safer, but that is just a personal preference. Even though this car seat is pretty expensive, I definitely think it worth the money.
