How to remove the caps? My cat doesn't like them very much.

Answer by ChewyJun 09, 2018
If your cat or dog's nail caps do not fall off by 8 weeks you will want to manually remove them by simply trimming the tip of the nail cap, being careful not to cut into the quick, and then applying slight pressure to the base of the nail cap as if massaging it.

Will my cats be able to comfortably stretch their muscles on their scratching post with these on? It's important for their mental and physical health to be able to do that. I see them stretch out their arms scratching all the time when I pet them.

Answer by ChewyMay 21, 2018
These nail caps will not interfere with normal claw extension and retraction.

can my cat still go outside and resume normal activities? He's a very good kitty and but doesn't have patience with my 9 month old and continues to scratch him.

Answer by ChewyJun 10, 2021
It is recommended that Soft Paws only be applied to cats who live indoors for the safety of the cat. The vinyl nail caps help prevent the scratching damage that is caused by the cats’ claw, but also reduce their ability to defend themselves. When a cat is outdoors, he/she may be faced with a predator and the capped nails will impair his/her ability to defend themselves.

how do you know what size to buy?

Answer by ChewyFeb 04, 2021
The sizing is based upon pet weight: Small is for 6-8 pound cats, Medium is for 9-13 pound cats and Large is for 14 pounds and up. These nail caps are designed for both the front and back paws.

Great way to stop your kitties from messing up furniture and carpets. My cats have stopped scratching as much as they used to as well. Was a little difficult to put them on but that was due to them not liking it, not the product. First time they were able to take some of them off. After applying them again they left them on no problem.

I recently adopted a 4 month old kitten. She was clawing my furniture and everything else in site, including my husband and I. I bought these nail caps and took them to a groomer to have them put on. The first day she had them on she licked her paws a lot and tried to pull them off. After that, she was fine and it seemed like she forgot she had them on. I got the pink sparkle and they look adorable on her. She still tries to claw, but no longer breaks our skin. Problem solved!

I'd forgotten just how sharp a devious little kitten's claws could be! When we took Tyson in for his "boy surgery", we had the vet put these on him while he was sedated. 3 weeks later he still has 50% on. We will give it a try to put them on ourselves, but he's named "Tyson" for a reason!

Poor quality glue

Glue hardens and becomes worthless, can't even install the first cap.

I took the caps and glue to the Vet and one of the 4 folks who could do the application was a 20 year veteran with her own cats. She had trouble getting the caps

Option to help safe furniture!

They tend to not stay on long. At least 2 on each front paw come off within first day or two.

Mostly good

Our main complaint was that the glue in the package was totally hard and unusable.
