Low fat, NON CHICKEN dog food. My boy was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Vet wanted him on low fat diet. Unfortunately it was chicken based. Mu dog cannot have chicken. I found this food after endless searching. My vet said ok lets give it a try! So far he is transitioning nicely. Running his bloodwork again in approx 6 weeks or so. Hoping to see a nice drop in his pancreas related numbers.

I found square pet low fat and showed my Vet and she approved of it because the fat levels are guaranteed never to go above 9% which is comparable to the food she recommended which is good for dogs with pancreatitis

My dog loves this food, my only thing is the texture hard to get out of can and hard to break it up enough so he doesn't devour it at once. He has very sensitive stomach and doing well on it, I mix it in with his home cooked. I don't use bottom part all the fat seems to settle at 1/4 of bottom.

My dog, who is very picky, loved this food. She has had gastrointestinal issues for years and this is the one food that 100% agrees with her. To me, it looked a bit dry and no real smell, but she took to it immediately. It was the only food she would eat during a recent illness. She's 13 and doing so well now on this healthy food.

So dry it could barely be considered a “wet” canned food

I was so excited when I heard that Square Pet had come out with a canned version of their low fat dog food, but was disappointed in how extremely dry and hard it

I was so excited when I heard that Square Pet had come out with a canned version of their low fat dog food, but was disappointed in how extremely dry and hard it was! It was so dry, it was even hard to get it out of the can. You have to add a whole lot of water and mix it up before serving it to your dog. I think they should give it a re-make and then afterwards, put it back on the market. There is a huge market for low fat food as sadly many dogs have pancreatitis. My sweet dog loved the kibble before she passed, but was not a fan of the canned version.
