I think we can agree that both you and your parents don't want you to have an upset stomach (i.e. the runs) when switching over to this really tasty new food. Take it slow, have your mom or dad mix increasing amounts of the SquarePet awesomeness while gradually decreasing the amount of the old stuff for about a week.

My dog has allergies and this is the only VF dog food she likes and pork seems to be the only flavor she likes and doesn’t cause stomach issues. It’s hard to find and I was so glad when I saw it at Chewy.
I was told this food had much better ingredients than RC Hydrolyzed prescription kibble. It's cheaper and my dog loves it.
Had my dog on Purina HA hydrolyzed dry food. Slowly transitioned to this food.. once completely transitioned to it my pup had terrible diarrhea for 3 days had to switch back to Purina HA. He went right back to normal within a day. Purina HA looks very different then this food. Squarepets looks like normal kibble, so definitely not equivalent to Rx food in my experience.
My great dane Percy has lots of skin issues. The vet recommended we do this food for 3 months to start then to add proteins one at a time back into his diet. One: price. His a dane, he eats 7 to 9 cups of dry food a day. A 20lb bag might get me through 7 days. Two: he wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole. He wouldn't eat it, tried for 6 days. He didn't eat for 6 days!! I'm sorry. But he needs to eat. Now I'm stuck with two bags of expensive food and out $170 for nothing. Mom and fur baby are not happy campers.
My little dog loves the taste but her leg and paw itching seemed to get worse . We are now thinking it’s the grains ( rice ) she is allergic to instead of proteins she has tried before in the past .
For the past 2 months, my Dobie has been severely struggling with food allergies. He's covered in hives, has bald spots. All started when he ate lamb. He had gone to the vet 4 times, the ER twice, all they say to do is try different foods. Ik for a fact he's allergic to chicken and that he does fine with beef and pork. For whatever reason though, his 3rd time eating this, he's had to get up and diarrhea every 2 hours!!!! since 10pm. As I write this it is now 10am. Around 4am the vomiting started. His hives are starting to go down and his skin isn't as dry and that's the only reason I give it 1 star. Otherwise negative 5 stars
We have 4 little fur babies and anyone that has a Frenchie can relate to how sensitive they can be stomach and emotions. Our frenchies love this food and it has made a big difference in their fur and no more diarrhea.
I was feeding my dog the square pet low phosphorous formula due to his kidney issues but he was resistant after a couple of months on it. I switched him to the the skin and digestive formula and he loves it. It's has more protein and phosphorous (still low and within recommended range) but has also has lower sodium and higher omega fatty acids, which is great for the kidneys and heart. Switching was worth it and better for him since feeding him the low phosphorous food and having to add toppers or his old food to get eat was probably worse for him in the end. Too bad Chewy can't keep the large bag in stock. I've been purchasing it from other sources for the same price or cheaper.
This food has been wonderful for both of my dogs. My Shih Tzu is allergic to chicken, fish & other foods. The fish allergy is the worst causing vomiting and diarrhea for days after ingestion. It's nearly impossible to find a food that doesn't have fish oil or fish meal in it. He has been doing great on this pork-based food, and he loves it! I also have a chihuahua with liver issues who eats Science Diet low-fat canned food, but doesn't like the dry version. He eats this food as well, and his liver values are testing within the normal range. I couldn't be happier with this food! I hope they never change the recipe.
My 4 year old German Shepherd has been on RC Hydrolyzed food for almost 3 years and a IBD group I belong to suggested this brand as it was a little bit cheaper than Royal Canin but my dog will not eat it. I might add that the kibble is very tiny too. Luckily I have another non IBD dog and she eats anything so it won't go to waste. So hard to find something that agrees with him that he likes.
