Smart Beet is a dehydrated product and is recommended to be soaked in water (2 parts water to 1 part pellet or shred, completely submerged) for a minimum of 30 minutes or until properly softened.

What is Concentrated separator by-product (see ingredient list)?

Concentrated Separator By-Product (CSB) is a secondary molasses produced during the separation of sugar from regular sugar beet molasses. It contains most of the molasses components but is lower in sugar content than ordinary molasses.

Not palatable

The product is very tough even after you add water it never gets soft. My horse has bad teeth and can’t chew it plus, she won’t touch it because she doesn’t like

Hydration and hind gut cleanse after colic impaction in hind gut

My 23 year old gelding had a very bad case of colic and so I started using beet pulp diluated for 15 minutes with water. So far so good and he loves the taste.
