About Stella and Chewy’s

In 1997, Marie Moody adopted a dog named Stella from a local animal shelter. She soon decided that Stella needed a companion and adopted a sick pup named Chewy, who joined the family and helped forge the company’s history. On the advice of a veterinarian, Marie began feeding Chewy a raw diet to help with his health issues. He quickly recovered, and both he and Stella thrived on their new food. The experience led Marie to pursue her passion for pet nutrition and start her own business—Stella & Chewy’s.

They package all of their products by weight, not by patty quantity, so the amount may vary slightly per bag. The 3.5-oz bag has about 2 cups of morsels, the 8-oz bag has about 4.5 cups of morsels, and the 18-oz bag has about 10 cups of morsels

Why do they add bone as an ingredient?

The bone is safe and essential, as well as a normal part of a raw diet. As long as the product is never cooked, heated, or microwaved, it is completely safe. The ground bone can become brittle and can splinter if it begins to cook.

Two of the kitties kept begging me for something more until they tried the chik chik morsels. They are more content now. All 6 of them had beautiful, soft coats, now they are even nicer! Some morsels orders have been moister than others. They prefer the ones that are less "baked". Also, wish y'all would make these morsels in a fish/seafood flavor other than salmon. Anything salmonny gives them the "runs."

Those that eat it...like it dry. Right now I'm adding smash ed up S&C chicken to their everyday mix of dry food. My goal for 2026-27 is to feed all my cats Half kibble and Half Stella & Chewy's dehydrated raw flavors (no bunny) Feeding 22 cats all dehydrat ed raw is too expensive. Half and half is affordable and by 2028, they'll all be eating only Stella & Chewy's...yay! PS Only baby Kitty (16 yr old cat) eats S&C hydrated with warm water. She's the only smart cookie.

I can only speak for the cat varieties but, even following the directions and getting the food wet before serving, it made my cats so constipated ! Like we has to

I can only speak for the cat varieties but, even following the directions and getting the food wet before serving, it made my cats so constipated ! Like we has to go to the vet levels. Once they did pass the stool, it was such a dense solid piece, I felt so bad for them! I would never feed this to my pets again, personally.
