About Stella and Chewy’s

In 1997, Marie Moody adopted a dog named Stella from a local animal shelter. She soon decided that Stella needed a companion and adopted a sick pup named Chewy, who joined the family and helped forge the company’s history. On the advice of a veterinarian, Marie began feeding Chewy a raw diet to help with his health issues. He quickly recovered, and both he and Stella thrived on their new food. The experience led Marie to pursue her passion for pet nutrition and start her own business—Stella & Chewy’s.

Too hard and caused digestive distress

It took a while to troubleshoot, but this jerky is definitely the cause of my otherwise healthy middle-aged dog's digestive distress. As others have commented,

It took a while to troubleshoot, but this jerky is definitely the cause of my otherwise healthy middle-aged dog's digestive distress. As others have commented, the jerky is now incredibly hard. I broke it up into small pieces for feeding, but those pieces passed INTACT through my dog's digestive system, causing mucus and loose stools. I imagine it is like gravel moving through the dog's system. We ruled out any other cause and even had a fecal test run. Luckily Chewy refunded the purchase price.

Dry and hard

While the beef bites are always moist and chewy the chicken bites are hard and dry. I cant even break them apart Maybe they are stale.

Not the same quality or consistency

We have ordered Just Jerky Bites multiple times, and while they’re advertised as tender, that hasn’t always been the case. Unfortunately, our most recent two orders

We have ordered Just Jerky Bites multiple times, and while they’re advertised as tender, that hasn’t always been the case. Unfortunately, our most recent two orders were not; both bags were hard and not edible for our little dogs. At 14.99 per bag, we expect better consistency in quality, especially from Stella and Chewy’s, a brand that stands by only the good stuff. Since these treats aren’t returnable, there should at least be an option for a credit when products arrive defective. After multiple disappointing batches, we believe it is important to raise awareness and hope the brand considers this feedback to revisit their Just Jerky Bites product line.
