Stella and Chewy’s Raw Blend “Red Meat Recipe” is our new favorite! I was eager to have Scooby try this food because I’ve had some pet parents tell me their dog loved the Stella brand, but hesitant because Scooby has tried so many different brands of kibble and dislike every one! I introduced the kibble as a new treat, and slowly increased the amount given. Today was the official day for a “full bowl” and as you can tell: success !! Scooby finished his bowl in 1 sitting and not a crumb was left behind. I will for sure be purchasing this Raw Blend to keep on hand at home for Scooby and we will try other flavors of Raw Blend. It’s nice to have a dry food option that won’t get smelly/stinky in this heat wave we are having.

Freeze Dried Pieces Look and Feel like Saw Dust

The kibble over all is fine, but the "freeze dried raw pieces" literally look and feel like compacted saw dust. They're weird and squishy and have little air holes

The kibble over all is fine, but the "freeze dried raw pieces" literally look and feel like compacted saw dust. They're weird and squishy and have little air holes. In my experience, freeze dried food is crispy and there's no air holes. My dog is picky in general but I mix in wet food and she'll eat everything, but even coated in tasty wet food she will pick around the freeze dried pieces and refuses to eat them. So now I just pick them out so they don't end up on the floor.

Stella, our dog, absolutely adored Stella & Chewy’s Raw Blend Red Meat Recipe Grain-Free Dry Dog Food. When the box arrived, it must have smelled enticing, because the cats couldn’t resist tearing it open while it sat on the counter. They even tried some, which didn’t bother me since I was familiar with Stella & Chewy’s brand and knew their products used top-notch ingredients. We had never tried freeze-dried dog food before, but Stella was experiencing some tummy issues. After reviewing the ingredients, we decided to give Stella & Chewy’s Raw Blend Meat Recipe a try. To our delight, Stella loved it. The ingredients were amazing, with nothing that seemed like a filler or byproduct. The chunks of meat were a hit too. She was able to tolerate the the new food, clearing up her tummy issues.

This is the first raw freeze dried food we have tried and to my surprise my pickier than picky chiwinie actually loves it. The ingredients are amazing with nothing that sticks out as a filler or byproducts. This is all meat based kibble. I did decide to add a little water to my little dogs bowl since he does have a few bad teeth and he chowed it right down. Those chucks of dehydrated meat were soft and easy for him to chew. This food is spendy but honestly worth the extra since they dont need to eat as much. Its a great source of protein without all the other junk most kibble has.

So good even thecat tries to get to the dog's bowl

As soon as I opened the bag my 6 year old mal-shitiz smelled the food and got all excited, and when I put the bowl down it didn't take her long for her to scarf

As soon as I opened the bag my 6 year old mal-shitiz smelled the food and got all excited, and when I put the bowl down it didn't take her long for her to scarf down the food, which is unique in my experience since the pellets are crushable betwen the fingers. Also, the smell of the food attracted my nearly 18 year old cat, who climbed an ecxpansion gate so he could get to the dog's food, and was trying to eat it when I pulled him out of her space. I've never seen him climb the gate before and every day when I feed her I have to block him from stealing it from her. Overall I would say this food is excellent based on them being so avid to get it, which I don't allow the cat to eat.

The food itself is not too small but not too large. No issues with digesting it either. Pleased with the ingredients. We’re not a fan of a bunch of junk fillers in their food. Definitely worth it!

I got this thinking, “Cool, maybe my dog will like it.” What I didn’t expect was for him to act like he just got served at a 5-star steakhouse. The moment I pour it, he looks at me like, “Finally, you understand me.” The freeze-dried raw bits? He picks them out first like a kid going straight for the marshmallows in Lucky Charms. It smells… like meat. Like real meat. I considered trying a piece, but I like to pretend I have boundaries. Bottom line: he’s obsessed, I’m broke, and now I have to pretend this wasn’t a one-time splurge. 10/10 would get guilt-tripped into buying again.
