About Stella and Chewy’s

In 1997, Marie Moody adopted a dog named Stella from a local animal shelter. She soon decided that Stella needed a companion and adopted a sick pup named Chewy, who joined the family and helped forge the company’s history. On the advice of a veterinarian, Marie began feeding Chewy a raw diet to help with his health issues. He quickly recovered, and both he and Stella thrived on their new food. The experience led Marie to pursue her passion for pet nutrition and start her own business—Stella & Chewy’s.

This product is gently oven-baked in small batches and then coated with freeze-dried raw for an irresistible taste. The freeze-dried coating for this product is powdered prior to being applied, so while it can be difficult to see, please know that the kibble is fully covered.

Started off great and then something changed

Had my pitty puppy on the chicken and salmon and you know those lovely chicken allergies but no issues with food nothing. We proceed to switch/transition her to

Had my pitty puppy on the chicken and salmon and you know those lovely chicken allergies but no issues with food nothing. We proceed to switch/transition her to this the whitefish and she loved it no issues initially then things became concerning.. Got a bag was clearly opened and resealed. chewy was great and credited then one other before or after smelled weird so i didnt risk it we are in florida could have spoiled in the heat. Got tired of issues with small bags figured get big bag then no constant ordering. we got her big bag poured it into the sealed dog container always was fine first 1.5 wks then she wouldnt touch the food( only THIS food) she ate everything else all her other stuff. She got explosive diahrea that smelled very metallic.Took a but for us to figure out but something must have gone bad at the top of the bag initially and since we poured it, we didn't get to that part until after. I sat down to talk to chewy and well i cant say the rep was as pleasing as they usually are. it felt very accusatory with the words. and NO I DIDNT keep the bag of dog food that was making my dog have explosive diarrhea im sorry. Well after these issues we are transitioning her as fast and as safely as possible to another food that chewy does not sell. And after todays phone call and 14 years (my prior girl had chewy account) i dont know if ill be ordering much. I dont take chances with my dogs well being and with this one being a pup even less. When a parent of a puppy who is sick wants to make sure that item is no longer around I didnt even think at that time to keep it just in case. Again SORRY CHEWY that i cant return the bag of food that you said is being blamed on my dog getting sick. Im a VERY overprotective mom. My pup doesnt fart without me knowing so YES it WAS the food.

Our allergy prone girl is tough to please with food she'll like that doesn't have chicken or irritating fillers. Stella and Chewy Wholesome Grains Whitefish and Salmon has proven to be a winner! Will continue to purchase. Food is top notch, but gave 4 stars instead of 5 due to there being no in between size bag offered. A 10lb option would be nice instead of needing to buy two 3.5lb bags since we alternate with Halo.

No Legumes to protect his heart

Lukah loves This food but I have to take it with a grain of salt because he pretty much likes to eat anything. It's got great ingredients and no Legumes to keep

Lukah has a large amount of allergies to food and it's always a struggle to find one that doesn't have any poultry products but this food checks all of the allergy boxes.

Chewy dropped the ball!

Granted it’s the same ingredients but I bought the Superblends raw nuggets for a reason and you ran out of stock so I had to choose the raw coated. I will change
