Transition Instructions

When it comes to transitioning to any food, a slow transition over 7-10 days is recommended; it is the same case when transitioning to our food too. To start, we recommend mixing the new food in with what you're currently feeding and slowly building up until the new food is the sole food that you're feeding/that your dog is enjoying. Even if your dog isn't eating their current diet, it's important to start off small with new food and introduce it slowly, as sudden changes to diet can cause digestive issues.

    Stella & Chewy's dog food

By Scoobydoosfriend on Nov 29, 2021

This seems like a good food. My dog likes it and does well with it. She is healthy and has plenty of energy. The kibble is very small. The only thing I do not like is that it says it is raw coated but it looks the same as any other dry kibble and I cannot tell if it is actually raw coated.

    Havanese puppy loves it!

By AdelinesMom on Sep 11, 2021

We have a 5 month old Havanese puppy. She started out exclusively with Stella & Chewy freeze dried Chicken/Salmon puppy patties. I wanted some kibble to use in her snuffle mat, and as a reward during potty training so I started with a small bag of S&C chicken puppy kibble. However, I started reading about the problems with grain free kibble that substitute more peas/lentils in place of grains. Then I discovered this brand new puppy formulation with no pea/legumes and gave it a try. Adeline loves it! We now do 1/2 puppy patties rehydrated and half wild red puppy kibble.

    For puppy kibble, it's great

    By Kiko on Oct 2, 2021 top1000Contributor

Got this for our newly adopted puppy. He is a really fast gobbler so I would've wanted something big enough for him to have to chew up before swallowing. He loves it, but I have a feeling he would love anything put in front of him by the way he eats. Will be transitioning to a Stella and Chewy freeze dried raw as an adult.

    High quality puppy food!

By Puppy on Oct 25, 2021

Our 55lb 5 month old American Bully loves this puppy food! We go through the big bag pretty quick but that's where the autoship comes in handy and she is thriving and growing big. We also like the raw coated biscuits for treats.

    He Likes It

By NashsHumanMama on Aug 27, 2021

After his litter mates left Nash became a picky eater. So we switched from Now brand puppy food to Stella & Chewy raw coated. The bite size is smaller and so far he's been gobbling this up! I'm happy he has his appetite back. I just ordered 3 more bags in the past week! I hope he continues to love his new food

    Puppy kibble

By Leann on Sep 20, 2021

Great option for an older puppy who needs a diverse option of raw meats. This covers chicken, quail, duck and also has taurine. The kibble is very small so I use it for games - hide n seek and on a snuffle mat.

    Puppy Love!

By Tiger on Sep 20, 2021

My Doberman/German Shepherd puppy just loves this food! Tried other puppy foods and he was finicky. This also agrees with him much better than the pure chicken recipes resulting in firmer stools.

    A hit with my puppy!

By Ryan on Aug 24, 2021

I have a 12 week Shichi and the kibbles are the perfect size for her tiny 7lb self. I also use it as a training treat or in her food dispensing ball and she loves it. I do too it with a bone broth or pieces of the freeze dried treats (lamb liver) every so often to switch it up and she loves that too. My vet told me about the FDA warning against grain free food but after looking into it it seems the real issue is with the peas, lentils, and chickpeas used to replace the grain. There’s none of that here so I trust it’ll keep my puppy healthy.

Love the Kibble Hates the Gas

By OliversMom on Sep 29, 2021

My mini golden doodle puppy loves this food, but mercy, does it give him stinky gas! I thought the gas would subside after a few weeks, but no such luck.
