is the Wild Red kibbles also oven baked? like other S&C's raw blend and raw coated kibbles?
Answer by ChewyJul 13, 2021
Stella & Chewy's Wild Red Kibble line is not baked, but instead extruded. The raw coating, however, is added after the extrusion process, so does remain raw.

I feed my puppy S & C Beef & Salmon patties and he loves it! Want to mix with a healthy kibble that doesn't contain peas, lentils & chick peas. I've read that "extruded" kibble is "highly processed" & may remove some of the nutrients. Can you pls comment on this with regard to your kibble?
Answer by ChewySep 24, 2021
The Wild Red Kibble is extruded, but they use a cooler than typical extrusion temperature. This leaves more of the naturally occurring nutrients intact. They also are sure to appropriately supplement the product with vitamins and minerals to ensure that it’s complete and balanced when fed.

My puppy seems to like the adult Raw coated that I feed to the big dogs, she won't eat the puppy brand. Is that ok?
Answer by ChewyDec 17, 2021
The adult version of this recipe is formulated to meet the nutritional levels of all life stages established by the AAFCO, except the growth of large breed dogs (70 pounds or more).

is this food ok for large breed puppies?
Answer by ChewyFeb 03, 2022
This food is not intended for large breed puppies.

We both love it

These are the tiniest kibble I have ever seen and they are perfect for my little three pound toy poodle! I have to say that it is also the best smelling dog food I have ever experienced as well. I believe because of the raw coating they are more enticing in addition less dry and crumbly as some other kibbles. I do add bone broth as a boost to his kibbles and his appetite is much better overall. I am very happy with my choice to go with Stella & Chewys as our transition kibble and will try others when he is more mature.

great food for sensitive stomachs

My 1 year old could not eat any kibble without getting sick. He has been diagnosed with SIBO and carbs are not his friend. Not even ones my board certified nutritionist recommended. This is the only one that does not cause him to get sick AT ALL! Thank you Stella & Chewy’s!!!

I mix with Stella and Chewy puppy patties.

My boy likes this. I mix the raw coated kibble with the Stella and Chewy puppy patties, half and half. I add hot filtered water too. Right now my spoo weighs 9 pounds. I give him 1/4 cup dry and 3 patties, 3 times a day. I bake him organic sweet potatoes too. And mix in a big spoonful for a nice consistency. He is doing well. Lots of energy. Growing fast. I think my boy would eat just about any food though. He likes to eat. My last poodle was tiny, picky, and would only eat Stella and Chewy chicken patties and the chicken tiny mixers. No other flavor would do. He lived to be 15.

Doodle did not care for it

My labradoodle puppy did not care for the food. She’s a picky eater. Would sniff and walk away from it. She loves others Stella and chewy products, just not this one

Tiny kibbles

The kibbles are extremely small, so not suitable for training. Might be helpful for very small puppies that struggle with larger kibbles.

Kibbles are small for large breeds

Puppies loved the kibble but they are too small for a large breed. A larger kibble size should be available for large breed puppies. Kibble size is more for toy or small breed puppies.

Stella & Chewy's dog food

This seems like a good food. My dog likes it and does well with it. She is healthy and has plenty of energy. The kibble is very small. The only thing I do not like is that it says it is raw coated but it looks the same as any other dry kibble and I cannot tell if it is actually raw coated.

Puppy food

My puppy loves the food but I was very disappointed with Chewy that the delivery was due on Saturday and my delivery day didn’t change until after 9pm. I had no food and stores were closed. No notification.

Puppies likey likey

The puppies seemed to like it so far. Makes me feel good knowing it doesn’t contain corn meal or bone meal.

Havanese puppy loves it!

We have a 5 month old Havanese puppy. She started out exclusively with Stella & Chewy freeze dried Chicken/Salmon puppy patties. I wanted some kibble to use in her snuffle mat, and as a reward during potty training so I started with a small bag of S&C chicken puppy kibble. However, I started reading about the problems with grain free kibble that substitute more peas/lentils in place of grains. Then I discovered this brand new puppy formulation with no pea/legumes and gave it a try. Adeline loves it! We now do 1/2 puppy patties rehydrated and half wild red puppy kibble.
