I have a very active lab that only wants to eat, play, and play some more. We have been worried about his joints, bones, and muscles since all he does is run and run. I found these treats that covers all the needed ingredients to help keep him in healthy shape so we have been giving them to him daily and he loves them. He would eat all of them at once if I would let him. We will continue to buy these and use this brand and we recommended it to our friends and family!!!
I have two senior citizens, and I figured both would benefit from some hip and joint supplements. My pug mix became sick after only two days of getting one tab daily (he weighs about 20 lbs) so I immediately stopped administering. My larger shepherd mix seemed okay until about day 4 or 5, but she also became ill (both dogs were vomiting and had diarrhea). It's unfortunate, I still have an almost full tub I don't know what to do with, but once I stopped giving the tablets, both dogs felt better by their next meal.
I bought this product because my sister suggested I try it for my Golden Retriever. She jumps on and off of my high bed and also on and off our golf cart... I noticed she started to show signs of joint pain so I bought this to see if it would help. Within a few days she seems to have more stride in her step... and loves to have these as treats! This product has really made a difference for our fur baby!
The dogs love these, but the dosage for my big dogs is three and four pieces each. My bad, since I didn’t pay attention to this before I ordered, but that dosage renders them less economical than I would like. The long list of ingredients, some of which are questionable, concerns me. I found a supplement for a similar price, geared to large dog: International Veterinary Sciences, Arthramine, Glucosamine Supplement, For Large Dogs, Beef, 120 Chewable Tablets, with dosage of one per dog, and the list of ingredients is short and sweet. I’m going with that one.
I have both of my Golden's on this. I love the size because of their size they get more than one. They like the taste so much it works as a reward. If your pet is fussy mix it in some food. I make freezer bowls and these are great to add. My Veterinarian is a fan of these for her dogs as well. We have stairs to go outside so I started them young as a preventative measure.
I purchased these chews to replace some I bought (Cosaquin chews) because my fussy dog didn't like them. He would not take them as chews so I had to crumble them up & mix into his food. So I bought these chews to replace them. He ate the first 2 , now won't chew them. He spits them on the floor as soon as he gets it in his mouth! They smell horrible to me!! And apparently to him! Now I have a full jar of these and half a bag f the others. At least the Cosaquins are drier and can be crumbled easily. These are more moist and resist crumbling. I don't know if they would work for him because he won't give him a chance.
Our senior dog loves these and they really seem to help with his age related arthritis. What i most appreciate about this is that is also includes our vet recommended fish oil and chondroitin which in conjunction with the glucosamine, seem to make our dog's mobility and comfort improve over the prescription medication he's on.
I have an almost 14 year old senior golden who has horrible hip issues, she was overbred before I rescued her, these have really helped her be able to walk almost pain free on our daily 2 mile walks - which she loves!!
I can't say anything about it yet since it's so early. We used to give it to her several years ago, but she was very young. Now she started having arthritis. We immediately purchased this again. So I don't have enough data yet to place the perfect review. But we have heard (even years ago), that this helps. We'll see.
I have 2 Chihuahuas. They both have separate issues. Millie was healing from a broken pelvis when I adopted her 9 years ago. They told me she'll have arthritis later in life. Her hip area had been a bit stiff. I heard clicking. The vet said she's not in pain and didn't see arthritis yet but said vitamins will help to keep it at bay. I was using a liquid version on her food. It stank and she didn't like it so I mixed it with peanut butter. Then my other dog had a luxating patella. It wasn't bad enough for surgery luckily. She wears a brace that attaches to her harness and she needs to lose weight. So I couldn't use the liquid glucosamine because I can't give Dhalia peanut butter, it's too high in calories. Long way to say I found these treats. These are great! I can factor in the calories of the treats for Dhalia. And they both LOVE the taste! They've been trying them for a bit now and I've seen a great improvement! Dhalia can walk longer and farther. Millie isn't nearly as stiff. And I rarely hear the click any more. I'll continue to use these daily along with their healthy diets and I'm really expecting awesome things!
