We'd recommend supervision the first couple of times wearing the suit to see if your cat will be comfortable if left alone.

Because of the specially tailored opening at the back, for the majority of cats, you can leave the Recovery Suit fully closed while the cat is using the litter box. We recommend to check the opening at the back from time to time while wearing the Recovery Suit.

How do I know I did not put it on backwards? Does the tag inside go on the back like human clothes?

The best way to tell this item is not on backwards is that the leg holes are all facing down and your pet steps into the suit.

Did not fit

I ordered the XXS for my 11lb adult cat according to the back measurements, thinking I was sizing up like the description and comments advised, but it was very tight

I ordered the XXS for my 11lb adult cat according to the back measurements, thinking I was sizing up like the description and comments advised, but it was very tight on her and she had no mobility. Getting it off was even harder. The neck also should have a little more stretch to it - I'm not sure what the reason for the turtleneck is in the first place.

Too tight and too long for my cat.

I bought the x-small suit for my 16" long cat. She is an older lady who has lost weight because of her illness and consequently has some loose skin. The suit fit her like a sausage skin hurting her surgical incision. The suit was also too long on her. The hind leg straps hung loosely and would have interfered with her using the litter box. I almost cut it off her to save her the hurt of removing it properly. She cried throughout the ordeal - I'm afraid I've lost her trust in me now. I've since gone back to using the human baby onesies.

Get one before spay surgery!

My girl kitten absolutely freaked out with a cone. I highly recommend getting one of these before a spay. It definitely worked a lot better than nothing else I tried

Just be aware if they lay on fabric that provides some friction, they may be able to twist and get their arm/leg stuck in the suit. Overall, highly recommended though!

DANGEROUS recovery suit! DO NOT BUY!

I was totally fooled by the way these recovery suits were advertised. Wow. My cat had a recent spay, and I bought every recovery suit I could find online, and two

I was totally fooled by the way these recovery suits were advertised. Wow. My cat had a recent spay, and I bought every recovery suit I could find online, and two of these included in that haul. (2 sizes) I have to say these are the worst of all the 10 I tried. The snap closure portion in their most sensitive hindquarters area is as stiff as a newly starched shirt collar. Feels like there's thin plastic swen inbetween the fabric layers- but it's the entire section for each snap strap so the entire section that goes around their bottom... exactly where it would be THE most uncomfortable. The corners for those snap closures will poke right into a cat's genitals too whenever they sit or lounge?! It's also got thick, surged seams all over the INSIDE of the entire belly portion of the suit?!... with a "pad pocket" that would act like a scrubbing pad (with or without a pad in it) exactly where any abdominal sutures would be. (?!) Top that off with a very snug, very long turtleneck elastic band that makes me feel choked by just looking at it. I guess it can be folded in half to reveal loops that can go around a collar?!...in case this wasn't enough of a tourniquet! This isn't a surgery recovery suit, it's a torture device that would surely injure any cat who just had surgery. I am horrified that this product exists, and that Chewy sells it/promotes it. It's made me lose confidence in all products that chewy sells. All the fancy ad videos and fancy packaging in the world cannot compensate for how medically dangerous this item is. This company should be ashamed of itself.

I also think that when people complain through rage about a product that is clearly well made and well received, they are having a little issue of their own.

I returned this because it didn't fit well. I didn't reorder because it was too difficult to get on the cat to try it on her. Unless you have a very docile pet,

I returned this because it didn't fit well. I didn't reorder because it was too difficult to get on the cat to try it on her. Unless you have a very docile pet, getting legs and head through the snug openings will be a struggle. I guess it depends on the reason you need the suit. Might be ok to cover a bald spot while hair regrows, for example, but I wouldn't want to fight a cat who's sore from surgery.

Our dear kitten had to have life saving surgery. We got the suitical so Abby could have freedom after her surgery and not rip out her stitches. She hated the hard cone and the soft cone and ripped them both off. She wore the suitical for the entire 2 week post-op period. We bought 2 so she would stay covered while one was in the wash.

I rescued two little orange tabbys and spay them immediately upon rescue. They came home wearing tiny cones of shame. Even though the cones were tiny they were about a half an inch too long for the girls to put the cone around their food bowls to eat. These girls had also been living outside all their lives and were likely already traumatized by the sudden change in their lives. These little recovery suits were a miracle solution. The girls healed beautifully and no muss no fuss. In my case, they worked for my two sweeties - perfectly.

I liked the suit but Blaze DID NOT.

The material was soft and construction was of good quality. It was easy to put on. I put it on Blaze a week before her scheduled surgery to get her used to it

The material was soft and construction was of good quality. It was easy to put on. I put it on Blaze a week before her scheduled surgery to get her used to it. She was far from happy. Initially she fell over sideways as if her back end and haunches were paralyzed. Then she zoomed around the house trying to leave it behind and slammed into furniture and walls because she wasn't using her backside effectively. After I calmed her down a bit, I attempted to take the suit off her and she scratched and tried to bite me, hissed and was generally overly aggressive. A first time ever behavior from her. Of course 10 minutes after she was out of the suit she was her normal sweet and affectionate self. I'll be relying on the traditional collar for the recovery period after her surgery.

We got this for our kitten’s spay surgery. Not only did it cover the incision beautifully, while also being a little baggy in the stomach area so it didn’t rub against her incision, It also hindered her movement because she felt awkward with it on. I cannot recommend enough. She also looked so silly in her little turtleneck, so it lightened the mood while worrying about her constantly :)
