A cat-preferred alternative to the dreaded cone of shame, this new approach comes with a host of perks. While traditional cones restrict normal movement and distract their sense of direction, the recovery suit solves all these problems and then some. Acting as a second skin, it allows your cat to go about his normal routine—all the while keeping the wound clean, dry and protected. All this equals less stress, a faster recovery and a happier pet. Just ask yourself, would you want to wear a cone?

With cats, the head must be inserted first into the shirt followed by each front leg (separately) into the openings provided. The Suit should then be pulled back as far as possible over your pet’s body. The two straps on the belly side are secured by threading them between the rear legs and then connecting the snaps to the upper section near the base of the tail. Make sure that there is enough room for tail movement.
It is comfortable, hygienic and can be washed at 30º Celsius. Do not place items in the dryer, must be air dryed.

Overall: I would purchase these again, but don't expect every cat to like them. The CON: I bought two of these for my kittens who were just spayed to replace the cones they were wearing. One of my kittens simply did not take to the body suit. She entered what I can only describe as a sort of depression and I found her hiding away in her cat carrier which is not normal for her. Within a few minutes of replacing the suit with the cone, she started to return to her normal self. I wonder if she thought she could not use the restroom in the suit because not long after I removed it, she went to the restroom. Or perhaps it was over stimulating for her. More of an FYI than a CON it does collect pet hair like a magnet. The PRO: The other kitten however seems to get along just fine with the suit. It takes them a while to get used to it, and it's been 24 hours and she still is not confident in her ability to jump small heights. It does a great job preventing them from licking the affected area, and she uses the restroom in it just fine. It otherwise performs as I would expect it to and for me it is worry free.
Brownie had an abdominal obstruction and had to have emergency surgery which resulted in a strip of stitches up his tummy. The doctor sent him home with a cone that was supposed to stay on for two-weeks. It was apparent the first night that it was not going to be viable for that long and I ordered this suit which works like a charm. I stuffed the pocket with bandages to provide extra stuffing so he wouldn't chew through it and pull the stitches. I then ordered a second suit to switch out when one needed washing. It works pretty good for potty time but sometimes he would get smudges and leaking around the opening, hence the need for a second suit. Hes a full grown skinny six pound cat and the xs fit great. My other cats have the same length but are 16 and 25 pounders and they would need a size medium and large or extra large. It would be nice if they made one for a short but portly kitty.
The recovery suit is amazing! After being neutered, our kitten responded to wearing the suit, instead of a cone, so easily. He was calm and we were so happy that he recovered from surgery quickly without any complications. He was able to do all needed daily activities without us worrying about jumping, etc…The suit helped us be more confident that he wasn’t able to lick the incision when we were unable to watch him.
My boy Andy is an anxious thing and tends to overgroom when he’s stressed, which is whenever I’m not home. Since I can’t be home all the time, he’s been overgrooming. First, I tried a cloth cone, but he was miserable in it and also escaped the moment he left my sight. He couldn’t jump, eat (not even treats!), potty, or do much but walk backwards or sadly, no matter how much time he had the cone on to adjust. I was at my wit’s end when I found this, and it’s already amazing! Turtleneck is a bit much, but i just folded it over itself, did the two-finger check, and problem solved. I’ve caught him trying to lick his problem areas, but they’re perfectly covered by the suit but he can still groom his face and ears just fine. He’s been able to run around, play, eat, potty, and he’s even been cuddly and purring. In the summer heat, I’m trying not to keep him in it during the day, so we’ll see how it works out longterm, but this will be my go-to for all recovery from now on!
This would be a great choice for female cats getting spayed but it doesn’t cover the back area when neutering males. And I see how that would be tricky to do while allowing room to use the litter box now that I’ve seen the suit.
Our 4 month kitten had to get emergency surgery to remove something he ate. He was having a really hard time eating and drinking with the cone so I bought this suit. We ordered a XXX-small and it fit perfectly. It took him less than a day to figure out how to walk in it with the help of many treats. After a few days he was running around and playing in it. He did manage to get it off once (we have no idea how) but overall he didn’t scratch or lick the incision area. He also had no issues going potty which I was truly impressed! Highly recommend as a great replacement for a cone.
Really not pleased with this recovery suit. Doesn’t do that great of a job keeping him from biting/ scratching at himself so we ended up needing to use both the outfit and a fabric e collar substitute. I would say comfort 6/10 it took him only like 30 minutes or so to comfortably walk around. Price 3/10 this is wayyy more expensive than it needs to be honestly. Sure the material is nice, but it hasn’t stopped him from licking at all. Practicality 1/10 it straight up did not work for us at all and I’m extremely disappointed with this purchase. I will say the material seems to be pretty high quality and the button snaps are very secure. He has gotten out of the fabric collar substitute and plastic E collar but this keeps him in great. It also fits pretty well but unfortunately a little to tight around his neck for my taste. He was measured to be an XXXS which seems to fit every part of his body fine except his neck. I’m sure other people have had really great experiences with it so obviously do your research!
Measured and measured again. Brought the suit to my vet to put on after surgery while he was still loopy because I wasn't able to get it on him for a try on --- and was worried I would hurt him if I waited until afterward. Didn't fit. Now he has nothing, because he freaks out in the cone. What a nightmare. I have used suitical brand before for a dog and didn't have this issue.
This suit fit my cat perfectly. Not too loose and not too tight. I’d definitely recommend to anyone who has a cat who hates cones! It kept her spay incision clean and safe while it was healing while giving her the freedom to be a cat. She could eat, use the bathroom, and walk around like normal. She walked around kind of awkwardly at first, but once she got used to it, she seemed comfortable! My only recommendation is to give your cat a few minutes of supervised freedom for the cat to groom themselves.
Used this for my 9 month old kitten for her post spay recovery. I was able to get it on and off easily, it washes well and she tolerated it well. She got the e collar we got from the vet off before she even got home but her stitches healed perfectly well with the suit. She is 8.5 lbs and she wore the xxs size and it fit perfectly. Highly recommend!
