Answer by ChewyNov 07, 2023
SunGrow toys are BPA-free.

What size treats does this dispense? And do you have recommendations for treats to use?

Answer by ChewyFeb 03, 2025
This toy is designed to dispense small-sized treats or kibble. For optimal use, select treats that are small enough to fit through the toy's openings, ensuring they can be easily dispensed during play. Using appropriately sized treats will help keep your pet engaged and mentally stimulated.

Is this made in the USA?

Answer by ChewyFeb 21, 2022
This slow feeder is made in China.

Size of opening?

Answer by ChewyJul 12, 2025
This product has an opening designed for small to medium kibble or treats. The toy measures about 2.75 inches (7 cm) in diameter, and the adjustable slide on top lets you slightly tweak the opening to fit most standard-sized bits. In short: the opening is sized to fit small-dog or cat treats within a ~2.75″ spherical toy, with a slider to fine-tune how fast they drop out.

We got this for our Aussie for Christmas. He’s not sure what to do with it yet. I think we’ll need to find just the right adjustment so fewer treats come out. Otherwise either he’s going to eat too many treats if we fill it or he’ll be done with all of the treats in about 30 seconds. We don’t really need to put his regular food in it because he’s not a super fast eater. I bought it to entertain him when we don’t want to play. Not sure yet where/how this is going to fit into our routine.

I like the idea of this toy. It feels durable but not for a super tough chewer and high energy dog like our Frenchton Rat Terrier mix. She knocks the toy around to get the treats out in less than a minute, but she then chews the screwed in top off. The plastic top now has sharp edges which are dangerous.

So I tried this with my larger dog and yeah, she was hitting it then she said forget this picked it up with her mouth, carried it over to the floor and dropped it it made the top come off and she ate all the treats. The little dog he won’t hit it but if you touch it and he sees treat, he’ll get it so now we’re just going through training as he’s not even five months old yet and he’s only 4 pounds so I mean really what can he move? He can only drag, but it’s a little one does this.

She'd do almost anything for a treat

Except play with this. She's a major chewer and hyper. She's afraid of it! Go figure! The toy is well made. Really like how easy it is to fill and clean. The adjustable

Except play with this. She's a major chewer and hyper. She's afraid of it! Go figure! The toy is well made. Really like how easy it is to fill and clean. The adjustable size for dispensing the treats is also a major plus. My grand-dog, a Golden, loved it. It really is a great design and functional.

I do not think this product is meant for small dogs because it’s really big and heavy to push around and that’s not with any dog food in already. This product is advertised for dogs that have a lot of energy and need to be stimulated, which is primarily puppies. So, reconsider the design of this product.

Great, but note the case the hard

Our puppy was scared of this at first because he wasn't used to a hard ball like toy rolling around on the hard wood floor. We had to cover in duck tape at first

I bought this for my dog to burn up some of his terrier energy and unfortunately I broke open almost immediately. I double checked to be sure I had put it together properly and he was able to repeatedly break it open with little effort. It also didn’t withstand his chewing on it and pieces broke off.

I had a toy similar to this with a previous dog who absolutely loved it. Unfortunately, the dog I have now was not the slightest bit interested in it and it got pushed to a corner and left there. I’ll be donating it. Also, it was a lot smaller than I expected. Maybe the size of a large orange or avocado. The one that I had before was about the size of the head of cabbage so know your dog before you buy the toy!
