No sand!

The reptile carpet is not only easier for cleaning, but it’s definitely better for my beardie as his nostrils do not get clogged with sand anymore!

Good quality mat.

Substantial amount of mat. I cut down to my 20 gal tank. To clean the dirty spots I just spray Clorox Free and Clean and it wipes right clean. I haven't tried yet

I started out using carpet when I was 15, since then I have learned why it may not be recommended. The texture of carpet can catch on toenails and teeth (I have personally experienced this) Due to the carpet like material it is also exceptionally good at harboring bacteria after being used like a potty pad! Even after thorough washing it can still hold onto those germs and overtime can cause infection if particles get into a reptiles mouth or eyes! Loose substrate is always recommended to create a more natural environment for your beloved baby :)

Instead, go for options like carpet or paper that won't break into tiny bits. This carpet comes highly recommended. You can wash it in a sink with soap or toss it in a washing machine. It may not handle rough treatment well, but otherwise, it's a handy, budget-friendly essential for reptile owners.

This product is incredibly effective. In the past, worms and crickets used to hide under the old mat, but after applying duct tape along the edge of this mat, it creates a neat border. This has put an end to unnecessary spending on live food. The green color is visually appealing to our Bearded Dragon, and it's easy for him to access his food without any "fuzzies" getting in his mouth. When it requires cleaning, we use a small shop vac to remove all the waste. While we plan to rinse and reuse it a time or two to extend its lifespan, we haven't had the opportunity to do so yet, so its long-term performance remains to be seen. Nevertheless, overall, it's been a fantastic addition to our setup!
