Is the whole collar rigid or is the mesh part soft and flexible to allow them to push the cone out of the way?

The soft part is added on the plastic dog cone. This plastic dog cone has enough support and hardness and will not bend. The soft lining inside this dog cone is fixed and cannot be removed.

Perfect fit for large breeds

It’s hard to find a cone that fits a big neck comfortably, but this XL size is spot on. I bought it for my Golden Retriever (approx 80 lbs) and the velcro straps

It’s hard to find a cone that fits a big neck comfortably, but this XL size is spot on. I bought it for my Golden Retriever (approx 80 lbs) and the velcro straps make it easy to adjust for a secure fit. He hasn't been able to wiggle out of it, and it keeps him away from his stitches.

Awful!

I waited 10 days for this item to arrive as it was a shipment from a third party sent via USPS Ground Advantage. (Tracking was terrible). When I finally did receive

I waited 10 days for this item to arrive as it was a shipment from a third party sent via USPS Ground Advantage. (Tracking was terrible). When I finally did receive it, I was extremely disappointed. There was far too much Velcro to deal with and it sticks to itself in all the wrong places making it really difficult to put on & take off. It is also not really what I would call a "soft" collar either. Being mostly plastic, it will never be breathable & it will not work too well here in Texas where the weather is always so hot. I had such high hopes for it, but this contraption is just one giant failure. BTW My puppy hated it more than we do....now we will have to go back to his "life preserver" aka donut collar until we can find another one with a more suitable design.

Bernie found it easier to wear than other typical cones. I found the directions regarding attaching extra Velcro to be confusing. A better explanation was needed
