If my “allowed” cat finishes and walks away and my other cat sneaks in before the lid closes, will the lid close on him and if yes, can it hurt him?

Answer by ChewyFeb 16, 2021
The feeder is meant to close if it senses a presence that is not authorized, and features additional custom modes available for more persistent food stealers. While these intruder settings do allow the lid to close more quickly, Sure Petcare ensures that their feeders are not forceful enough to hurt a cat.

Does the company provide a stainless steel bowl that can fit into the feeder, to use instead of the plastic bowl?

Answer by ChewyNov 05, 2020
At this time, the manufacturer does not offer stainless steel bowls for this feeder.

What if my cat loses the chip that opens the feeding dish?

Answer by ChewyAug 15, 2020
This feeder is compatible with your pet’s existing internal microchip. If your pet is not microchipped, the SureFlap RFID Collar Tag is available as an alternative.

What are the opening dimensions, W X H, on this feeder. My chicken cat will eat If I open it. He approaches it from the side. it does not open. Maybe a taller height would work for him.

Answer by ChewyMay 13, 2020
This feeder is approximately 7 7/8 X 9 X 12 5/8 inches. The feeder opening is approximately 8 1/4 x 6 1/8 inches. The bowl is approximately 4 1/8 x 6 5/16 x 1 3/16 inches with a 13 1/2 ounce capacity.

Once upon a time, there was a tiny skinny old lady cat, who needed to eat 100x a day and have expensive vet food. But along came her big ‘ol chonky brother everytime she tried to eat to stick his fat head in her food instead. So one day, a magical steed from the land of Chewy delivered a new food dish full of magic and sorcery, which read the chip in the old lady cat perfectly, allowing her to chow down to her heart’s content. Her brother is still mad about it, but he gets extra love and snuggles so they all became healthier, mom got some sanity back, and they all lived happily ever after. The end. Oh by the way Chewy sent me a replacement Hub the very next day when the 1st one didn’t work. They rock! I got an $20 extender to put the hub in my kitchen so I didn’t have to have the feeder by the router because who has their router by the cat food? 100 % would recommend. Great products!!

Same size as SureFeed Microchip Small Dog & Cat Feeder

I have a SureFeed Microchip Small Dog & Cat Feeder and my larger cats don't like it because the arch forces them to hunch over too much to a poor eating position

I have a SureFeed Microchip Small Dog & Cat Feeder and my larger cats don't like it because the arch forces them to hunch over too much to a poor eating position. In the description the size of this is listed as slightly bigger - therefore much higher price. Well, I just got it, compared the size and they are exactly the same size. So I just paid $208 for a feeder that is the same size as the $172 feeder. On this feeder I also noticed that infront of the food bowl there are holes. I can assure you that food will fall down those holes and create a cleaning issue. I won't be using this feeder. Very disappointed - I have a larger cat on a special diet, but the other cats steal his food. He is uncomfortable with the SureFeed Microchip Small Dog & Cat Feeder so I was hoping this would work for him. I need to find a different solution that can deal with his special wet food.

drains batteries

I go through C batteries once every 2 weeks. I don't understand it. I have researched on the brand's website and we are using high quality name brand batteries

I go through C batteries once every 2 weeks. I don't understand it. I have researched on the brand's website and we are using high quality name brand batteries. I'm frustrated, but otherwise, this product is exactly what we need for a cat that requires a different food from our other kitties. If the batteries didn't drain, it would be perfect!

Great tech, but could be so much better!

I bought one, after much debate (price), but i was loosing my mind trying to feed 2 cats expensive Urinary food, while not letting the rest of my pride have access

I bought one, after much debate (price), but i was loosing my mind trying to feed 2 cats expensive Urinary food, while not letting the rest of my pride have access. The microchip reading tech is fantastic! We realized we needed a second fir our old gurl that needs constaint access to soft food as she is losing weight. What they lack: While you are alerted when, who, and how much each cat eats of each side (if dry and soft splut bowls), and when the bowls are topped off - why on earth don't I get a notification when they are empty?! 2. Why can't there be a schedule, so that they aren't always able to access the food/graze (or if you need to have them eat meds) 3. Why can't you add an ice pack to keep soft food cold, if it is free range, like the timed round feeder with 6 portions and ice packs 4. I wish there was a big tank, so we didnt have to refill the hard Urinary food daily 5. I am wondering how hard this will be for my old girl to use as her legs are having a hard time, and I had been feeding her in a raised feeder. I was actualky wondering if instead I should have gotten her a microchip door, so behind that door, I could have had a normal timed feeder, on a platform, that dhe could onky access through a microchip activated door. Ps LitterRobot - please use microchips to read which cat accesses the litter box like this - it is great to really know the last time a cat has eaten.

This feeder worked great to keep only my kidney patient cat eating his food. Unfortunately he was sneaking some of the other cats food he shouldn’t have so now I need to buy more of them. I had to buy legs for it so it would be taller for him. He’s was too tall.

Love this product

Since I have two cats now, I had to get a second one. Super helpful to track eating or to help with dieting and weight loss (previous cat). I really appreciate that

Since I have two cats now, I had to get a second one. Super helpful to track eating or to help with dieting and weight loss (previous cat). I really appreciate that it works with a microchip and I don’t have to put a tag on a collar for my cats to be able to use it.

Great option!!! Life saver!!!

One of my cats has allergies and this keeps her out while allowing my other cats to graze. I also use for wet food and put hand icepack under smaller metal bowl

One of my cats has allergies and this keeps her out while allowing my other cats to graze. I also use for wet food and put hand icepack under smaller metal bowl keeps wet food cool and others out. I do wish they would provide the back with multiples it's necessary and the plastic half dishes I wish had a metal option but overall very happy. I have seven of these feeders they're FANTASTIC!!!!
