Sweet Meadow

My 4 girls are 3 years old and have had this food available to them as a staple alongside timothy hay their whole lives. They love it. They don't get as much as they'd like because it can be fattening, but that's all the more reason to have it on hand- it makes a great base for critical care.

Great food, read and review for yourself!

We do rescue work with highly compromised guinea pigs. This food is comparable to the preferred national brand. Are guinea pigs prefer it and we prefer the results. There is a choice within the brand that has strictly Timothy hey, but this one allows for the health issues of our needs. We have been using it for over a year, it is fantastic. We have guinea pigs from two years old to 8 years old.

HEALTHY WITH GOOD TASTE!

"Sweet Meadow Farm" Original Blend Pellets Guinea Pig Food. Is NOT full of unhealthy corn filler as alot of brand names & it's reasonably priced. My 2 guinea pigs love it, and healthy food is important for happy healthy guinea pig!

Possible cause of health issues in Guinea pigs

I have been using Sweet Meadow Farm pellets (a mix of original blend and all Timothy) for a while now and was happy with them at first. The pigs love them. Over the past few months I have experienced a lot of loss and health issues in my herd and breeding program. After speaking to other breeders, I’ve found they were also using Sweet Meadow and have been experiencing the same thing. I will be switching brands immediately as it’s a bit too coincidental that we are experiencing similar situations all over the country and this is the only common factor we can find. It looks as though the formula has changed also, there are chunks of corn in it now. Please monitor your pig’s health if using this feed. Chewy handled my complaint quickly and seamlessly, this is no reflection on them as a company. I am disappointed on having to change brands, I was happy to support a less commercialized company.

Buyer Beware

The price point of this food was an easy sell for me. I own quite a few guinea pigs and have fed this food for months. I have lost 7 animals in this month alone. After speaking to a few others who also feed this brand, the only thing we have in common is that we are feeding these pellets and losing our animals. Please keep an eye on your pets if you are feeding this food. I’m convinced there is a quality issue. I tried contacting the company to voice my concerns, but no answer.

Great value

Having a caviary, I need a bulk size bag. This comes in a 40# bag, plus my piggies love it. I had no problems transitioning my babies when it was time, and my adults loved it just as much as the Oxbow. The babies weren't crazy about it, but definitely didn't have a problem with eating it. Will definitely be buying again. 9/10 would recommend Great value and nice quality
