We have not been using this product for a long while, but so far we are pretty satisfied with these pellets for our senior mare horse that is prone to ulcers and suffers from several ailments. Our mare has no complaints with the newest addition to her feed, which is nice since she is a picky eater. I think in the future we would only get this for our equine friends that are actively dealing with ulcers. The only "downside" we encountered was having the container arrive cracked - but not a big deal at all since the pellets come sealed in plastic so they were totally safe for consumption.

Farrier is coming and I thought this might be something to try. Our horses do not like the farrier. But not one of the three would eat it, either by itself, or mixed in with something else. Not sure why, they are usually not that picky. The product itself had my approval because: - Packaging, it has a small plastic bag inside of the container, with the scoop being separate. I did not have to worry about the contents flying about when trying to open it - It was easy to open, which surprised me, usually I have a hard time with these pull tabs - The pieces themselves were not too big and not too small and I thought for sure they would blend in with their other feed - No nasty odor, nothing rubbing off on hands Alas, I cannot say anything about whether the product works or not.

I needed a supplement that i could gie my senior mare that is gentle enough to use daily or on an as needed basis. My horse Kachina is always weaving; despite having tons of space to move around. Anytime I take out her buddy Nate- she comes completely unglued- even though he is literally 20 feet away from her. I started mixing this in her breakfast mash and she is usually very picky, but did not hesitste to eat it right up. Within about an hour and a half, she is mellow and calm, but mot tired or lethargic. If the price is right, I would consider feeding this to her longterm. It also does not bother her stomach; which is good. I recommend this product. I will use this product for my gelding when I rode him, because he is very spooky and bucks a lot. I have yet to use it on him to see how my rides go.

Waited a couple of months for my review as I wanted to make sure it was working like it was suppose to. Seems like a great supplement, but the price is way too high to sustain for maintenance.

My horse willingly eats the GastroChill supplement, which is a big plus since he can be picky. The pellets have a very dry alfalfa texture, but he doesn’t seem to mind at all. I’ve noticed it seems to help mellow him out when he’s stalled — he usually gets pretty anxious in those situations. I bought this hoping it could replace some of the other calming and stomach support supplements I use during stressful times, like when he’s stalled during bad weather. So far, it seems to be doing just what I hoped!

Great Combination!

I love the concept of GastroChill as a 'nondrug', natural method of protecting my horses digestive system and also decreasing his reactive nature. This past summer has presented far too many stressors for my horse Sunny and I was anxious to try SynNutra's GastroChill. Sunny is also very 'picky' when it come to accepting supplements, feeds, etc., however, the alfalfa pellets were readily accepted as a top dressing to his feed. I started with 1 scoop per day and after feeding for a couple of days, noticed that he seemed much calmer and was cleaning up both his feed and his hay. Previously, he would eat 1/2 to 3/4 of the feed, and there was evidence that he had been pacing overnight. I tried increasing to 1.5 scoops per day, however this seemed to cause some softer manure (still formed, but not his typical), so I am continuing with 1 scoop/day in the evening.

Love this product. I am using it as a prevention for gastro issues experienced during the summer by my miniature horse, and when she needs to be clipped. This supplement relaxes my horse making her easier to work with. She loves the taste so I just add it to her morning feed when I know she's going to have a stressful day, and that's enough to settle her stomach and calm her for the groomer.

Decent product, little gut effect in my horse

I found this product to be very palatable in pellet form that my picky horse had no issue eating with his normal ration. I do feed the regular Synchill powder product

I do feed the regular Synchill powder product (without the gut support like this product) and find that to work well to take the edge off, however, this product with the addition of the gut support I didn't find to be very effective.

I haven’t been using SynNutra Equine GastroChill for very long, so it’s hard to say for sure how well it works overall. That said, I’ve started to notice some subtle differences — my horse seems a bit calmer and more comfortable, especially around feeding time. It’s easy to use and my horse doesn’t seem to mind it, which is nice. I’m hopeful that with a little more time, I’ll see even more improvement.
