Learn More About Taste of the Wild From Our Team of Experts
They might not be wolves or coyotes, but today's domestic dogs share the same ancestral cravings. To satisfy these instinctual appetites, Taste of the Wild wet and dry formulas are made with real, roasted meat plus fruits, vegetables and legumes that are chosen for their specific health benefits.
Energy That Lasts
Taste of the Wild is made with premium meats like wild boar; buffalo; smoked salmon and turkey; and roasted bison, lamb, quail, venison and duck. Every formula is grain-free and provides lasting energy with complex carbs from sweet potatoes and legumes. These highly digestible proteins and fiber-rich carbohydrates will keep your pup feeling full and energized throughout the day.
Immune System Support
Since 70% of your pet's immune system is found in the gut, it makes sense to choose a food that's good for the digestive tract. Taste of the Wild includes prebiotics and species-specific probiotics with bacteria that's naturally found in a dog's GI tract. The proprietary K9 Strain probiotics are added after the kibble is cooked so your dog gets guaranteed live, active cultures that support healthy digestion.
Maximizing Nutrient Absorption
To help your pet's body absorb all of the beneficial minerals in her food, Taste of the Wild recipes have chelated minerals. That means they can easily attach to proteins for absorption during digestion. So your canine pal will enjoy the full value of every carefully selected mineral that these foods have to offer.
Perfectly Balanced Omegas
Taste of the Wild gives your pup just the right dose of omega fatty acids in every bite. Marine-sourced omega-3 comes from salmon oil, smoked salmon or ocean fish meal, or a combination of these ingredients. Omega-6 from plant sources balance out the omega-3s, and they work together to help maintain your pet's skin and coat health and to support overall wellness.
Ingredients for Better Health
The powerful superfood trio of blueberries, raspberries and tomatoes can be found in every delicious recipe, along with their immune-boosting properties.
TOMATOES AND TOMATO POMACE: Help support overall health by providing vitamin C, soluble fiber and rich in concentrated lycopene, a premier antioxidant.
BLUEBERRIES: Antioxidant-rich superfood that's full of flavor and loaded with vitamins C and E, healthy carbs, dietary fiber and manganese.
RASPBERRIES: Delicious berries packed with potassium, manganese, copper, iron and magnesium, and they also provide fiber and antioxidants.

What is the natural flavor in this product?
Answer by • May 01, 2022
Natural flavoring is an ingredient added for enhanced palatability and an extra-tasty meaty flavor in your pet's food. It's made from hydrolyzed chicken, which means that the protein is broken down into small particles that are less likely to be recognized by the immune system in a pet with food allergies.

This food smells terrible along the lines of vomit. While I have been on the hunt to find a food from my cat with allergies I could get past the smell, however, she will not touch it. I mix it in with her current food and she picks around it only eating her current food and leaving this behind. This has been going on for weeks. I have three cats and and my other two are on a Taste of The Wild food as is my dog, but unfortunately this brand does not work for my cat with allergies. Still on the hunt for a food that she will not only eat but solves all not just one of her issues such as bloody stools, vomiting, and sores.

Our Cats Love It
This works for our picky eater and her brother who is not as discerning. While we feed wet food, we always have dry out so that they are free to graze. This has been a popular choice ever since they were kittens.

New formulation contains chicken fat
Warning for chicken sensitivities! This food was working great for my cats IBS but the most recent bag has switched sunflower oil for chicken fat which my cat is sensitive to.

My cats loved this...
I have very finicky cats. They get bored of the same cat food. I bought PREY and they loved it. No left throw up in their bowls telling me hey I hate this food. No scratching by their bowls telling me it belongs in the cat litter. My cats leave empty bowls they really enjoy the flavor. Highly recommended this cat food.

Tbey all gobble it
I say they all gobble it, but it is mixed with 8 other dry foods. There is never a speck of dry food left, however, so I think it's good!

My cat loves this food!
I wasn't sure if my cat would like this food, but since she likes beef canned food, I gave it a shot. She loves it. It is the first time in a very long time that I could get her to eat dry food. I like fact that is has limited ingredients and not a lot of fillers

I think it's a good product but my cat doesn't seem to like it.
Seems fine, just a picky cat, will eat it but doesn't really want to.
