Are the "pasture raised Angus Cows" raised in the United States or are they sourced from another country?
Answer by ChewyMar 29, 2021
All Taste of the Wild recipes are manufactured in and distributed from their five state-of-the-art facilities all located in the United States – two in California, one in Missouri, one in Arkansas and one in South Carolina. The pasture-raised Angus beef originates from the U.S.

What is in the "NATURAL FLAVOR"? My furry friend is allergic to Pork, Lamb, Soybean, Rices, Oat, Kelp, and Sweet Potato.
Answer by ChewyJul 01, 2020
Natural flavor is a natural ingredient that is added to enhance the flavor and acceptance of the product. It can be from vegetable or chicken sources and does not contain MSG. Some examples are parsley or other herbs and hydrolyzed proteins, processed so the average molecular weight of the protein is too small to be detected by the immune system, which helps avoid adverse reactions in allergic pets. There is no intact protein from the chicken.

Is the angus type grain-free?
Answer by ChewySep 09, 2020
This recipe is grain-free. The facility in which this food is made also makes food that may contain other ingredients, such as grains. Trace amounts of these other ingredients may be present.

Great for Dogs with Food Allergies!

My rescue has so many food allergies that it's hard find foods she can eat. This food has been a Godsent for me. I wish it wasn't grain-free, but I just cook some white rice for the week & add a couple tbsp to her food. My dog had issues with having regular stools both in form and timing. This food goes through her well. Even when I added probiotics to her other foods it didn't work nearly as well as this food! We did have one instance of regurgitation which is her allergy response, but I tried the Trout food and I've had zero issues so far. No regurgitation, good bowel movements, & she absolutely loves it! I wish that this had organ meat in it, but other than that, this food is fantastic!

Cardiomyopathy

My dog developed severe dilated cardiomyopathy from eating this food. Please talk to your vet before feeding your dog a “grain free” or “limited ingredient” dog food. We thought we were feeding him the best food on the market but now he is very sick after years of feeding him a grain free diet.

Great dog food!

This is high quality dog food! Both my mini pin and Heeler enjoy this food. They have firm low odor stools which makes for easy cleanup! They are both healthy and have beautiful coats. This food is worth the cost and better than other premium dog food they’ve eaten.

Great Choice!

My dog was not very happy with his dry food and he was very itchy. We switched up to this food and he's doing so much better with his skin and he LOVES it!

I think it's good...but

Cocoa loved the taste and the ingredients are good, but she was pooping way too often and drinking tons of water. Her stomach also was distended. I had to take her off of it.

Apparently great taste

Shadow our GSD devours this flavor. We do change up the flavors so she does not get bored. This will stay on autoship for sure.

Great food

My dogs really like Task of the Wild food. We just started the Prey but so far they enjoy it.

Good Beef

This was good but it did not seem to help my dog and his allergies. I thought it would be good for him, he liked the taste, it didn't do anything for his allergies.

Good Limited Ingredient Kibble

My Blue Heeler has a lot of food allergies and it was a real struggle finding him food he could tolerate. He was eating Zignature Limited Ingredient Duck mixed with Against the Grain canned Duck for years until they decided to add probiotics. My dog started itching again so I decided to try Taste of the Wild Prey Angus beef. It also has probiotics, but he seems to tolerate it pretty well. He still scratches but not nearly as much as with the new Zignature. The only thing I don't like is the bag. It's kind of flimsy and I don't know how it will hold up to constant opening and closing because it takes awhile for us to go through 25 lbs. I also wish it had a Velcro closure. Anyway, my dog likes it and gobbles it up.

Changed ingredients

Please note that this food has changed it's ingredients. We chose this food because our dogs are allergic to chicken. One of our dogs started scratching and breaking out recently. We checked the ingredients of the food and chicken fat is now being used instead of sunflower oil.
