Questions & Answers

31 Customer Questions

Where do they source their ingredients and vitamins from?
Answer by ChewyNov 07, 2019
Taste of the Wild uses USA-sourced ingredients whenever possible, but will outsource some ingredients like buffalo from India, for best quality and availability. There are ingredients that are critical to their formulations (i.e. folic acid and taurine) that can only be sourced out of China included in some recipes.

Does this contain any eggs or egg products? My dog has allergies to them. I did not see any while reading the ingredients, but I would feel more comfortable knowing someone else didn't find them in the description as well.
Answer by ChewyOct 09, 2019

Bo loves this

Getting my baby from the Humane Society he was nothing but skin and bones because he was abandoned. i bought him this because I’ve seen so many commercials and reviews about it. He loves it. He was able to gain 11 pounds within the first 2.5 weeks because he was finally eating and he is eating healthy now he’s down to two meals a day and he’s absolutely loves it!

I don't recommend

I feed this to my dogs along with their regular dog food to introduce it to them in their diet, and I ended up with 3 of my dogs needing vet care One I had to take to the emergency clinic $3000 dollars later. They are ok now. Don't know if for sure it was the food but I'm not going to try this again.

New Formula isn’t the same

I have been feeding my dog this dog for about 2+ years and never had a problem. It’s a new formula now and she broke out in a rash and has sores in her mouth. Vet says it’s an allergy.

They love it!

I have been feeding my mini Aussie Taste of the Wild for about 3 years now. She loves it, and we like to try different flavors. Recently I inherited my dad’s dog, an older lab mix. My dad fed “Gage” regular dog food, basically whatever was on sale at the supermarket. After 2 months of eating Taste of the Wild, I can’t get over the physical changes in Gage. His coat is much thicker, he is more active, and he absolutely loves his kibbles. I highly recommend this food.

upset stomach

My daughter's dog has always had grain-free Taste of the Wild. Recently the vet said he should have a food with grains, so we switched to this. After going through an entire bag, it seems to be giving him diarrhea, or at the least, a very loose stool. We'll be switching back. Not for us.

What I think

As far as the dog food my dogs are real picky eaters and I have not found a dry dog food yet but I'm still trying and I'm sure this is a good dog food but I haven't tried it, as far as chewy.com I love it simplifies my life living in a small town America. With chewy.com I'll go click click boom I can move on to the next project absolutely love it thank you

Taste of the Wild

I switched to Taste of the Wild from another popular kibble trying to rule out an allergy. I will stick to Taste of the Wild, Ancient Grains because my two greyhounds really love it.

Food stunk

Thought this would be a good choice. The food stinks so bad. Made their poop stink really bad. Never gagged before cleaning up their poop. Caused gas and upset stomach.

Great dog food for some.

I had bought dog food prior to Taste of the wild. And I was refunded for what I bought. I in turn bought a large bag of Taste of the Wild and they won't eat it either. I didn't want to contact the company because I didn't want them to think I was running a scam. Now I have two large bags of dog food I have to donate and buy more for these three little snitts of mine. Nothing wrong with this dog food it has all the good stuff in it my dogs just won't eat it. From now on I will buy a smaple bag and try that first.
