About Taste of the Wild Dog Food

Taste of the Wild® with Ancient Grains

Taste of the Wild® has taken the wild proteins from their original formulas and combined them with ancient grains, for a powerhouse of protein and nutrients that will have your canines howling for more. Perfect for pet parents who want to feed healthy complex grains as well as their signature roasted and smoke-flavored meats, fowl and fish, these are the crave-worthy meals your pup was born to eat

The Wild is Expanding with Ancient Grains

Sorghum, millet, chia seed and quinoa—these healthy and nutritious grains have remained largely unchanged over thousands of years. Naturally rich in protein, fiber and the vitality-giving nutrients our wild companions need to thrive, Taste of the Wild® pairs these ancient grains with their unique animal protein bases for a healthy new recipe.

The #1 Ingredient Is Always Meat, Fish or Fowl

Every Taste of the Wild® formula is based on unique and highly digestible animal proteins including venison, salmon, lamb, fowl and bison. They provide the high quality protein canines need to support strong muscles, good organ function, and skin and immune health. You’ll see the results in your dog’s shiny coat and overall vitality, and he’ll go wild for the flavor.

Species-Specific Probiotics

Taste of the Wild®’s proprietary K9 Strain® Probiotics were developed specifically for dogs and are added after the cooking process to ensure viability. Each pound of Taste of the Wild®’s dog food contains 80 million live active cultures, to provide the healthy digestive and immune support your buddy needs for overall good health.

Where is the duck and chicken sourced? Are the animals farm raised or free range or pasture raised?

Answer by ChewySep 30, 2022
Both duck and chicken are sourced from local farms here in the United States. All of the animal protein sources in our formulas are raised for consumption. Cage free means these animals are never in a cage, but may or may not have spent time in a barn.

I gave my dogs this food for a few years without an issue until recently. Neither of my dogs seem to like it anymore. Even my Husky/Lab who will eat anything was becoming reluctant. I had to switch to another product, which my vet recommended and my pups really seem to enjoy.

First order with Chewy, and I am disappointed to find my package busted open and filled with ants. This could be a delivery service issue so I don’t want to put the full blame on chewy. Quick 2-day delivery is worthy to note. Most likely just an unlucky experience.
