Temaril-P is formulated to help relieve itching and inflammation associated with allergies and other causes. It is intended to be used as a cough suppressant and is easy to administer. As with any antitussive treatment, the source of a cough should be determined and eliminated if possible. Temaril-P may be administered to animals suffering from acute or chronic bacterial infections as long as the infection is controlled by appropriate antibiotics or chemotherapeutic agents.
If any of the following serious side effects occur, stop giving Temaril-P and seek emergency veterinary medical attention; an allergic reaction (difficulty breathing; swelling of the lips, tongue or face; hives). Trimeprazine can cause drowsiness, tremors and muscle weakness. Prednisolone may cause symptoms of Cushing's disease which include increased thirst, urination and hunger as well as vomiting and diarrhea. Other side effects may also occur. Talk to your veterinarian about any side effect that seems unusual or bothersome to your pet.
Do not give any other over the counter or prescription medications, including herbal products, during treatment with Temaril-P without first talking to the veterinarian. Many other medications can interact with Temaril-P resulting in side effects or altered effectiveness. These include sedatives, anesthetics, pain medications, epinephrine and procaine.
Do not use Temaril-P in animals with tuberculosis, peptic ulcer, and Cushing’s syndrome. Use with extreme caution in pregnant animals. Watch for evidence of concurrent infection.
Please note product may arrive in a Chewy Pharmacy vial, manufacturer packaging is shown for reference.

The same dosage schedule may be followed for both antipruritic and antitussive therapy. The weight of the dog's initial dosage is as follows: up to 10 lb take 1/2 tablet twice daily, 11–20 lb take 1 tablet twice daily, 21–40 lb take 2 tablets twice daily and over 40 lb take 3 tablets twice daily. After 4 days, reduce dosage to 1/2 of the initial dose or to an amount just sufficient to maintain remission of symptoms. The individual animal response will vary and dosage should be adjusted until proper response. Always follow dosage instructions provided by your veterinarian.

Temaril-P is an oral medication used to relieve irritation of the throat that causes coughing from allergic bronchitis
Temaril-P is an oral tablet. Give with food to decrease chance of side effects.
Trimeprazine is an antihistamine. It blocks the effect of histamine in the body. Histamine can contribute to itching and cough. Prednisolone is a corticosteroid that blocks the production of substances that trigger allergic and inflammatory actions. Prednisolone is used to modify the body's immune response.
Temaril-P will not cure the cause of the problem, but will help manage the symptoms. Temaril-P should start to work within hours of administration. During the initial phase of treatment the effect should last 12 hours, and become longer as therapy progresses. If Temaril-P is stopped, signs of the disease may reappear.
To make my dog more comfortable as his inoperable lung cancer progresses, I was glad to get this daily med at a fraction of the cost from a vet. It increases his daily comfort & stimulates his appetite so he actually eats better than pre-cancer.
We are so happy with Chewy prescription services. We never run out of Ebe’s medication and we know when it comes and how much to deduct from our bank account. His med’s are not cheap anywhere but Chewy makes them affordable. And, whenever his med’s arrive, he and I sing the “Peanut Butter Box Is Here” song!
Our Maltese needs this Rx daily to control her collapsed trachea - it is far more reasonably priced through Chewy than from our regular vet office
On time, fair pricing. Always reliable!!
After a few years of Apoquel use that was quite costly for my GSD itchy skin that had minimal results a decision was made to stop the APOQEL after tumors emerged every year and had to be surgically removed. I was convinced it had to be the Apoquel as it does list it as a side effect. Thousands of dollars later for surgeries etc my new vet agreed to change over to Temaril. I am pleased with the results to include the med cost being a fraction of the price. 1 Tab a day works well. Time will tell the long term effect.
Placed order for my Maisey's Temaril-P twice, never received!!! Was told they would expedite 2nd one and they never did, my dog is really sick. This is not the way to go when your dogs life depends on it! Order placed on MArch 12 and it's March 19, Fed Ex lied said they tried to deliver, but we have cameras security no one came ! They admitted to loosing delivery. Chewy supposedly was sending a replacement and it's March 19,2022 and still no prescription! This makes me sick that my little Maisey's health didn't mean anything to either of these large companies, and she needs this medication to live, shame on them, do not trust them if it's something she needs this medication to live, shame on them, do not trust them if it's something that you really need please don't jeopardize your pets life like I did trusting that they would care!!!! If something happens to my dog if she has a attack that takes my dogs life and I will make chewy and FedEx a promise I will get an attorney and I will sue both companies!!!!
This was our first experience with Chewy. If all our purchases are handled this well, there will be no more 'firsts' with other companies. We are delighted with your service. You were highly recommended to us and now we see why. Keep up the great work!
Please cancel this. I lost my puppy. He was 16 years old. Phyllis Carle
The representative that assisted me was patient in hearing my questions regarding my first Pharmacy Order. She answered all my questions and placed order for me. I really appreciated her help and kind disposition. Thank you!
My dog has a crooked trachea and his coughing has worsened with age and had reached a point where neither of us were sleeping at night. He also has ongoing fungal problems. His vet and I have been debating what to do and someone recommended this and my vet and I decided to give it a try. It has been a miracle! I've been able to cut him down from 2 tabs a day to 1.5 and will soon attempt going to one bid. After that there is a likelihood he will be on the meds forever which is fine as he has regained quality of life. Rarely coughs, fungus under control and feeling so much better.
