we have a rescue who is 4lbs underweight and in desperate need of calorie-dense food with a texture he will consume. velvet mousse works a bit, but this, this gets him excited. unfortunately it also causes him to have explosive diarrhea (and after only about 1/4 of the pouch). we will continue to use the product, but only in small amounts added to other food. I am pleased it comes in a squeezable, resealable pouch (I freaking hate standard pouches...they make such a mess and one never is able to get out all the product). I hope each package will last long enough to use with just a couple of spoonfuls a day...bc it's quite pricey (therefore the "liquid gold" in the title).

This is by far the best item I have ever purchased for my geriatric hard to feed CKD kitty. My cat has always been a very picky eater. She has mostly eaten raw food

This is by far the best item I have ever purchased for my geriatric hard to feed CKD kitty. My cat has always been a very picky eater. She has mostly eaten raw food her whole entire life so moving her onto something else has been hard in her twilight days. Since being diagnosed with CKD she needs fast calories that are easy to consume. This product has been the best thing I ever found. It is super thin like soup soI can squeeze it into her mouth when she doesn’t feel like eating. I can squeeze the pouch and she’ll lick it from the top like a churu treat. I can add it as a topper to make food smell more enticing. best of all they can be resealed so they are great for travel which I do a lot of with her. I have kept these in my fridge for up to 10 days without incident. And my cat is a very picky eater and will not eat anything that smells slightly off, so although the package says that it needs to be used in a few days once opened, I found them to have a longer shelf life in the fridge once opened.

My little old kitty was fighting an infection (along with meds) and just was not eating *at all*. I knew I had to get some food into her somehow and when I came across this stuff, which has full nutrition in liquid form, I immediately bought some and started delivering it via an oral syringe several times a day. Her ribs were starting poke through and I really think this stuff gave her a fighting chance. We're still having ups and downs (we're up at the moment, and she's eating plenty on her own and is doing great behaviorally too, which I'm thankful for), but I shudder to think what would have happened if I didn't have this stuff as an option.

My 18 year old is on hospice. I usually add water to her food but I’ve been adding a couple teaspoons of this instead for a high cal, high moisture alternative. She’s got a pretty sensitive tummy and she seems to tolerate small amounts okay. And she likes the flavor i think! I wish it wasn’t so expensive - 8 dollars per meal is a bit steep.

My elderly cat was being finicky like mad and decided she didn't want to eat her other wet food, so in desperation to get something into her I tried this on the recommendation of a friend. She enjoyed it immensely, even if she'd only lick a bit of it up at a time, but it did help her get her appetite back! I like it's resealable and a full replacement.

I got this food for my senior cat Oliver who was having dental issues. He was having trouble eating. Unfortunately he didn't like the food at all he wouldn't touch

I got this food for my senior cat Oliver who was having dental issues. He was having trouble eating. Unfortunately he didn't like the food at all he wouldn't touch it. Could be because he is a senior and it was something different then what he is used to. Thankfully his tooth fell out and he is on antibiotics and he is able to eat his regular food. I like the carton the food is in because it is resealable and you can just use what you need.

Made my cats gassy

At first my cat seemed to love this, and I thought it was going to be such a game changer- but it upset his tummy and made him gassy, so he refused to eat it again

At first my cat seemed to love this, and I thought it was going to be such a game changer- but it upset his tummy and made him gassy, so he refused to eat it again after the first couple times. My other cat ate some too, and it also gave him smelly gas. The packaging is really convenient though, to keep it fresh and dispense smaller amounts as needed. I wish it had worked better for him!

She likes it!

My sweet kitty lost an enormous amount of weight due to CKD. She had stopped eating everything and anything, so I was desperate and took a chance on this liquid food. I was able to get her to start eating again using this. I introduced little bits of it at first, and she licked it all up. I was shocked and relieved. I continued giving her this mixed with water, and she slowly started eating her other wet foods also, and gained weight. I've saved the remaining pouches for any further anorexic emergencies. Of course, I would like it to have a little less phosphorus, though my kitties' phosphorus level is normal, so I didn't care; I just cared that she liked it. It has saved her.

Ease of use and nutritional content

I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find a food my 18 yr old could and wanted to consume. He now is eating again. I mix the Tiki cats liquid replacement

I have spent thousands of dollars trying to find a food my 18 yr old could and wanted to consume. He now is eating again. I mix the Tiki cats liquid replacement with the Tiki cat silver variety pack wet pate with broth. Thank goodness he is eating with out the use of drugs(appetite stimulants) Which was suggested, but I refused! Hopefully he will gain some weight over the next few months. I blended and pureed/liquefied so many different combinations of foods,brands, and flavors over the past 4 months I was about to lose my mind.
