How much iron does the feed contain?

is it safe to feed an older horse that is prone to founder?

Answer by ChewyOct 08, 2020
Total Equine LNSC is very safe and actually positive for an older horse even when prone to founder. There is no raw starch in this product to cause the excess fermentation in the hind gut that creates the lactic acid, which is one of the causes of founder. It creates a increase in vasodilation and this improves hoof growth and health. Total Equine increase the growth rate of the hooves and they will grow complete new hooves every 5 months.

Want to know about beet pulp pellets in this feed. Normally any beet pulp of should be soaked before being fed to prevent choke. How large are these pellets? Would help to see a photo. The other Total Feeds Equine Feed has more label info on it to see. This one ( LNSC) shows less label info.

Answer by ChewyJul 10, 2020
There is beep pulp in Total Feeds Total Equine LNSC Horse Food. It is ground and included with all of the other ingredients in the kibble. It is a rather small amount, so it does not require soaking to be safe.

Is this horse feed molasses and soy free?

Answer by ChewyNov 11, 2020

This is a good quality food. My horse runs to his stall when he hears me scooping it into the feed bucket. Like that it doesn’t clump together or get hard in the cold weather like the foods mostly made out of beet pulp.

At about 5 years of age my Appaloosa-POA was becoming skin and bones. She was on hay and pasture 24/7, but the hay and pasture lacked the nutrients. After starting her on Total Equine, she started putting on weight. I kept her on it for quite awhile even after her ideal weight was achieved. When she got rain rot and was losing weight at about 10 years of age, treated her with Coat Defense paste and again got her on Total Equine to get her weight back on. It worked great both times!

Reasonable cost, low sugar, my horse LOVES it

Easy to deal with pellets, like dog food. Can store dry and wet when feeding. My old horse can eat wet or dry to supplement calories. He LOVES it.

This is such good feed. It looks like dog kibble and my animals love it! I feed mini horses, Shetland pony and goats together and all doing well.
